arisebiadan: If you put NO when you have a refusal, you're setting yourself up for a Ban. Just put the date you remember, they have their records and would investigate. You can further explain the situation in the space provided. |

@Justwise et al I've posted earlier on my refusal notes. Please help with these. - I earned 160k from govt job - I paid myself salary range of 350k - 450k in the last 6 months Question: - What should my place of work read? - What salary do you earn after Tax should be? - Do you have other income or savings? - Do I need to mention what I earn from personal business? Thank you all. |

MrsDaniels: You see that thing you people seem to be desperately hiding? That will be the application’s undoing most likely! You can’t say you don’t know what is most required here - her personal financial status in Nigeria. Her bank statement is needed, whether having healthy balance or not, at least let them see her income (precisely her claimed salary), inflow and outflow. 3 Likes 1 Share |

@OmoBendel24 okay she would include d statement then. But what is surprising me now is how come her hubby was issued visa based on her own Uk account statement submitted and excluding his own naira account statement as he didnt submit it and he is an adult. because i tot i seen somewhere bfr that even wen an adult is been sponsored the onus is still on the applicant to submit his/her bank statement too. Abeg pls explain oh. @Justwise pls kindly reply this as am curious to know Lol. OmoBendel24: |

arisebiadan: No means No so there is nothing to explain the moment you select No. If you get banned that is because you called for it. |

lovesavvi: You can reply anytime you want but do that with an updated bank statement, other documents can remain the same |

Jommy26: You paid yourself between 350-450k monthly? And govt pays you 160K? You still wonder why people get refused a visa? How can you possibly pay yourself almost half a million naira a month from side business while holding a full time job that pays you 160k? You are setting yourself up for another refusal. Please state your financial situation as honest as you can because nobody will believe the picture you painted 3 Likes 1 Share |

Thanks for the responses @justwise I have listed out the documents I will submitting with my application. Can you help review and see if there's any additional document I might need. They are:- 1. Hotel Reservation for 9 days (I have seen a private room in an apartment, can I use this or should I go for hotel) 2. Employment Letter 3. Reference letter from my employer stating that he is aware of this and is recommending me for the visa. 4. Leave/Vacation letter from my employer 5. Bank Statements of 6 months (Total credit of around 3m and closing balance of 1.4m, I spent around 800k-1m for my dad's house refurnish. Hope it won't affect?) 6. Employer's address and telephone in a letter format 7. Cover letter 8. Invitation letter for the event 9. Birth certificate. I have calculated my budget trip and it amounts to around 1500 pounds (accommodation, feeding, return flight ticket and personal expenses.) My salary being converted to pounds is around 1100 pounds per month. Am I good to go with this? or any other doc I can add? Kindly help review it Thanks |

Jommy26: Then explain the nature of your business to the ECO and present papers to support your earnings. Your net earnings is your profit and not salary because you can't pay yourself a salary as a one man business owner 1 Like 1 Share |

@justwise...Please advise I just returned from my master's degree programme this January and my Tier 4 visa expired on the 25th of January 2019 My graduation is in April 2019 and I know I need a Standard visitor visa to attend my graduation. I have started the application process and I would like you guide me through this so that I would not encounter any problems. I filled in "other'' as my main reason for visit stating that I am visiting to attend my graduation ceremony on Friday, April 2019. I am currently unemployed and I have savings of about 1800GBP and I would be sponsoring myself for this trip. I am aware that the Visa application would cost 93GBP leaving me with an approximate amount of 1700GBP I intend to spend a total of 800GBP which would cover accommodation, feeding, return flight ticket and personal expenses for a period of 5days. Total amount of money spent each month was declared to be 30GBP Do you think the above is sufficient? With regards to documents to be submitted, I have the following: Valid International passport One passport photograph Proof of finance: 3 months bank statement from my UK bank account showing an approximate amount of 1700GBP Confirmation of accommodation (Hotel Reservation inclusive of breakfast totaling 295GBP for the period of 5 days) Confirmation email of graduation from school Since I am currently unemployed, what can I use as proof of return since I do not have any letter from an employer? And what other supporting documents can I add to this? Anticipating your response. Thanks. |

What he's trying to pass on to you is that stating that you pay yourself that much for a side hustle while you earn lower from a full time job is bound to spark suspicion. It's either you state the side hustle as your primary source of funds and tie to your home country or be ready to explain in full details the nature of that side hustle. If it's a one man business, your profit is yours to spend and you don't need to pay yourself a salary but you may need to separate your profit from your business capital. You can move your profit to a separate account and leave the business capital in your business account. Jommy26: |

Thank you Boss. So so appreciate your contributions. Really great. Actually, the side biz is a registered family biz with myself, spouse as Directors and children as stakeholders. I also pay my spouse monthly salary of 100k. Most of my transactions are done remotely online without physical contact. Mostly worked at nights. The visit is to explore happenings outside the shore of Nigeria within a week. I would have substitute govt job as side job but that's is not applicable in Nigeria. I was refused 3 yrs ago coz of series of logments and ATM transactions in both my salary account and company account. I need the best way to handle this situation. Thank you all. quote author=bigtt76 post=76065043]What he's trying to pass on to you is that stating that you pay yourself that much for a side hustle while you earn lower from a full time job is bound to spark suspicion. Well since you're a director of the company likewise your wife, you can get a board resolution (assuming it's a limited liability company) to acknowledge footing the vacation bills for your family as part of the benefits you are entitled to as a director of the company. There are several instances here on Nairaland, you can search through on the format used but you would need to be convincing enough to scale through the interview. All the best to you and your family. Jommy26: |

Misstakes: Happened to my friend in Sept last year. We called them several times, yet nothing. He received another not straightforward after the first one. Anyway, his visa later came out, even when the date of the exam he was supposed to come to the UK had passed. |
