Since the number of guys is more than girls, they had a way of silencing female handles. Ladies were all trying to be the perfect NL wife material. Ever wondered why they never call out the male handles that take on females? They love such guys. The number of likes on such posts would tell you who the real haters are. The guys who don't fall in that category are called female asslickers. They only whine when they are on the receiving end.

I think there are so are many reasons for the enduring but unfortunate comical, infantile, and cynical disposition of some Nairalanders towards these ladies. On the one hand, nairaland is a faceless forum, which confers the toga of security to the activities of members. On other hand, this degree of anonymity has been tremendously chipped off with the network of personal connections and relationships. Bear in mind that Nigeria is a patriarchal society that has different yardstick of measuring moral issues between sexes. Below are my reasons why these ladies are routinely abused.

First, since a web of relationships have been built, a lot animosity you see is as a result of failed sexual relationships, that left in their wake grudges, bitterness, and severe pain. The party who invested most in the relationship -- be it emotional, financial, spiritual, psychological, etc. -- almost always feels cheated and quickly resorts to nairaland to seek redress. In this self-defeating exercise, the disgruntled party almost certainly gets swift and easy members from both sex.

Second, we equally have a lot of indiscriminate, carefree, and incorrigibly blithe ladies, whose naked ambition for acceptance have inevitably led to making fundamentally fatal decision regarding their offline life. The daily revelation of personal and private affairs is a conclusive evidence that ladies should be very careful about who they choose to talk to. Though I concede that they shouldn't take the blame for the immaturity of their partners.

Third, some men desire these ladies, and because they couldn't get any of them, they become fair game to cajole and attack.

Fourth, opinion always matters. A lot ladies are hated solely because they hold and express opinions some people find repugnant and scandalous. To me, this, in and of itself, is not a problem. Nevertheless, some ladies ignorantly believe that labels -- such as feminism -- elevate self-esteem, and hide under its banner to insult males. The sad realisation that most of them don't practice what they preach, somehow justifies the position of their traducers.

Fifth, then we have the pernicious issue of "gender warfare," where issues are treated according to the gender involved, not according to its substance. Here, some of these ladies you mentioned have predictable, unchanging opinions, no matter what sex is in the wrong.
