As in. Two of my neighbors today voted for Atiku. One said Buhari wants to turn Christains to Muslims. The other said Atiku will make money flow. I mean I didn't even want to argue with those old men. It's strange because we just see several Yoruba shouting Atiku and Obi. The same people who'd happily marganalize them and shyt on us. Maybe we need better sensitisation especially the christians

Well, I think that is because to some of our folks, their religious affinity trumps their ethnic identity. That is why you cannot downplay the influence of Yoruba pastors in this respect. Fortunately or unfortunately (whichever way you wanna look at it), the most prominent pastors in Nigeria are of Yoruba extraction, and some of them are charlatans who promote the whole 'islamization' narrative as a tactic to maintain control over their flock. The likes of Oyedepo, who happens to be an unapologetic islamophobe, is one of the culprits I am talking about.

Inasmuch as I don’t want Atiku to win, you have to accept the fact that Yorubas who voted against Buhari are doing so because of the hunger in yorubaland. They don’t care about your fantom political power so take your nonsense out of here let’s see the results
As in ehn..I'm tired of full grown men, wailing like babies... Reasonable Yorubas are only doing what they are doing because it's the right thing to do. .
The Igbos would still have voted massively for anybody as long as it isn't Buhari .
Nigeria has never been this divided like it's under this government.
Even Osibanjo that's the V.P,wetin dem still gain?.

I am also highly disappointed in South West votes. One Ibo man at Mowe once told us he is not happy with the reconstruction of Lagos / Ibadan expressway. He said the project is being hurriedly constructed to be finished within Buhari 4 years. He said the project will be frustrated and not completed. That was 2016. Everything he said happened.

Yoruba is supposed to vote the Ibo way. If Ibo can vote 98% for PDP, Yoruba is supposed to vote 98% vote for APC. Baba Ogunde cried Yoruba Ronu till death. Late Gbenga Adeboye did the same. It seems they are under curse.

Even though I'm surprised at the low performance of southwest for APC, still I think it's a good thing.
We should be known for voting our consciences and not following the crowd. This way, no politician will take us for granted. Perform or lose our votes.

Our liberalism has started working against us and will continue to do so until we begin to put our regional interests first before petty politics. Imagine, even after GEJ marginalized us he still got almost half of the votes from our region in 2015. That's bullshyt and unacceptable. That tells you that we have a serious problem on our hands.
I'm happy to see reasonable Yorubas like you. Even though I'm not from the SW, I grew up there and have a lot of admiration for them. There's a dangerous trend emerging from SW that calls for concern, I don't know when you guys will wake up and realise that Nigeria as it is has gone beyond being too nationalistic, regional interest should be paramount above all, It's everyone for himself, God for us all.
I see the way people from SE abuse you guys online, even those of them who earn a living staying in your region, and it drives me nuts.
An OPC member was alledgedly killed by Igbos today and I haven't heard of reprisals, this can only happen in the SW. Can anyone try that in the north, SE or SS? These guys are the boss in their respective regions, they don't take shit. The SW really needs to wake up from their slumber, else these same Igbos u see abusing u guys will go behind you to form alliance with the north and they won't do it half-heartedly the way u guys do it by splitting votes. I have said my own

doesnt matter bro, its good that yoruba people arent like igbos

thats why most of the country prefer to stay in the south west over the south east, no tribe should be so closed minded, save for the igbo but no one cares about 5%

What you are saying is utter foolishness. It is that foolishness that made Ochereome Nnnana the chairman of vanguard editorial board to call the Yorubas sophisticated moroons.

Which conscience? So Ibos have no conscience? No wonder they called Yoruba sophisticated moroons. Liberalism and foolishness of the Yorubas are what the Ibo man called sophisticated moroons. Ibo will vote 98% for the party that gave them all the oil money at $118 and $140 per barrel without saving a kobo. They spent Obj foreign reserve of about $25 billion and still borrowed money heavily. Now, they want to come back again through their son.

So Ibo voting pattern is based on conscience but if Yoruba vote 98% or 95% for APC it is sentiment or tribalism . Is that not sophisticated moroons thinking?

mehen you are very right, despite the economic hunger, some of our Yoruba folks are still not smart, when kemi adeosun resigned, they cheered all in then name of Yorubas not tolerating corruption in their midst, but when the cjn was sent on suspension, some of our foolish yorubas started joining folks across the niger to condemn PMB, that was when I know some of our people are so naive. They can't read in between the lines to preserve yours first before anyone else. I give it to the Ibos, dem sabi wella even ibo folks who hated obi in the past all mobilized for him in this election but some of naive brothers joined others to lampoon osinabajo. Sophistication my foot, we dey do ourselves

Has PMB not performed enough? It's just fuçking evident that we Yorubas vote can't be totally relied upon, no matter the circumstances.

Under PMB, we have significant improvements in the Lagos - Ibadan expressway, railways nkór? Farmers are making it big. Tradermoni wey those market women no work for. N-power wey dey help people sustain themselves too.

Take a look back at 2015. GEJ does not deserve a single vote from SW after the overwhelming marginalization of the Yoruba's in his governance. Yet, he pulled over 40% despite the fact that our own son is on the ballot contesting against him.

Now, some ignorant people in SW are willfully lining up behind an AtikuObi government that will set a precedent of heavily imbalance political appointments and favours that will favour the SE.

you are so wrong.. the reason most people can't stay in the SW is because they can't stand competition, not because of anything.. the igbos are business savvy and highly competitive which is evident in all thier doings. even in the SW And north, thier business prowess are evident... with the IPOB issues, how many non idigenes have you heard killed? but look at the North. thank God for what happened in okota and surulere today, you can see how the yorubas percieve the igbos... the igbos are Neva the issue..

Which competition? Many people cannot stay in South West and you have congested Lagos State and now congesting Ogun State.

we are aware of this fact but some of our yoruba folks are just too blind to see. I knew we had a big problem when I saw the likes of Falana and Wole Olanipekun defending a corrupt cjn but they all kept quiet when Kemi Adeosun was disgraced out of office. Our people are playing more Holier than the pope and it's affecting our economic fortunes.
