Religion isn't the true enemy. Its the closed-mindedness: the desperate and continuous refusal to understand that other people have other needs/desires than one's, the belief that one is always right and other views are wrong and can't be listened to, and the fear of things and behaviours that one doesn't understand or hasn't experienced. These people are scared of the world and cling to whatever would promise them some security (to continue in their closedminded ways). Religion/fanatic science are just the tools of this madness.
