2019 Commonwealth Shared Scholarship (fully Funded Scholarship) To The UK by Excelrelate: 2:44pm On Jan 23, 2019 |
Commonwealth Shared Scholarships are for candidates from least developed and lower, middle-income Commonwealth countries, for full-time Master’s study on selected courses, jointly supported by UK universities. Funded by the UK Department for International Development (DFID), Commonwealth Shared Scholarships enable talented and motivated individuals to gain the knowledge and skills required for sustainable development, and are aimed at those who could not otherwise afford to study in the UK. These scholarships are offered under six themes: Science and technology for development Strengthening health systems and capacity Promoting global prosperity Strengthening global peace, security and governance Strengthening resilience and response to crises Access, inclusion and opportunity Eligibility To apply for these scholarships, you must: • Be a citizen of or have been granted refugee status by an eligible Commonwealth country, or be a British Protected Person • Be permanently resident in an eligible Commonwealth country • Be available to start your academic studies in the UK by the start of the UK academic year in September/October 2019 • By October 2019, hold a first degree of at least upper second class (2:1) standard, or a second class degree and a relevant postgraduate qualification (usually a Master’s degree). The CSC would not normally fund a second UK Master’s degree. If you are applying for a second UK Master’s degree, you will need to provide justification as to why you wish to undertake this study. • Not have studied or worked for one (academic) year or more in a high income country • Be unable to afford to study in the UK without this scholarship Selection process Each participating UK University will conduct its own recruitment process to select a specified number of candidates to be awarded Commonwealth Shared Scholarships. Universities must put forward their selected candidates to the CSC in May 2019. The CSC will then confirm that these candidates meet the eligibility criteria for this scheme. Universities will inform candidates of their results in July 2019. Applications will be considered according to the following selection criteria: Academic merit of the candidate Potential impact of the work on the development of the candidate’s home country. Application Deadline March 14, 2019. For more information and Application link, find below https://debir./2019/01/22/commonwealth-shared-scholarship-2019/ |

Good morning Bros, am applying for it, but my fear is I finished with 2.1, though strong 2.1. |
Re: 2019 Commonwealth Shared Scholarship (fully Funded Scholarship) To The UK by Excelrelate: 5:55pm On Feb 22, 2019 |
@ Maths125, it does not matter 2.1 or first class. What matters is the nature of your application to the school and to Commonwealth. How it works is that the school (University) will nominate you for the scholarship to Commonwealth. It is advisable to apply to as many courses as possible to improve your chances. Best of luck! |

Excelrelate:Thank you very much, to apply for many courses is not easy, that means I will have to write different essay for each course. |
Re: 2019 Commonwealth Shared Scholarship (fully Funded Scholarship) To The UK by Excelrelate: 4:23pm On Feb 24, 2019 |
Maths125: Sure, that is the prize you pay for the scholarship. |
Re: 2019 Commonwealth Shared Scholarship (fully Funded Scholarship) To The UK by Excelrelate: 4:29pm On Feb 24, 2019 |
Maths125: I think it will be much easier, if you get one essay right, then the rest will not be difficult, just follow the original's pattern. Major on things the reason why you are applying for the course (check course's website) and google too. Also, connect it with the importance of the course to yourself, your community/country/world. Then add how the course will help you at the end of your studies (post-study plans). Another thing is why you chose the school and include your leadership qualities and voluntary activities. |

ogcruise1124:have you submitted your transcript. If you have I think that's all I was mandated to submit also. There is a page requesting for source of funding. I believe indicating CSC there is enough to link the school with your CSC application. The only thing I'm skeptical about is the fact that I wasn't asked to submit reference on the Heriot Watt University portal. |
