Of those 231 sampled cities done for the sake of covering the whole world,Nigerian cities came 3rd and 4th worst for quality of life.

Don't take the words "least livable' and twist them to mean Nigerian cities are amongst the most livable coz that's not what the EIU said.

EIU Global liveable report didn't release 231 most livable cities in the world. Rather, it was Mercer that did the ranking of 231 most livable cities in the world after survey was carried out on 450 cities. I repeat 450 cities were evaluated during the process using the methodology below and Lagos and Abuja were ranked 212 and 213 respectively.

There's nothing like category of least livable cities. That's from your own fantasy. And stop using Nairaland and premier times to justify your ridiculous and false claims that Mercer and EIU made any category for least livable cities. Pure lie.

Mercer's survey is tagged 'The Mercer of Quality living Survey while that of EIU is EIU Global liveable index.

Unfortunately and as expected, Accra and Nairobi were missing in the 140 most livable cities report released by EIU after the methodology listed below was considered.

This is not about the most beautiful cities or most developed cities in the world. It is purely on only livability of a city.

Who wan go Edmonton, Graz, Pretoria, Darwin go do business make money?

Methodology

Mercer evaluates local living conditions in more than 450 cities surveyed worldwide. Living conditions are analysed according to 39 factors, grouped in 10 categories:

• Political and social environment (political stability, crime, law enforcement, etc.).

• Economic environment (currency exchange regulations, banking services).

• Socio-cultural environment (media availability and censorship, limitations on personal freedom).

• Medical and health considerations (medical supplies and services, infectious diseases, sewage, waste disposal, air pollution, etc.).

• Schools and education (standards and availability of international schools).
• Public services and transportation (electricity, water, public transportation, traffic congestion, etc.).

• Recreation (restaurants, theatres, cinemas, sports and leisure, etc.).

• Housing (rental housing, household appliances, furniture, maintenance services).

Few things to know about Addis Ababa. . .

Addis Ababa was found by Emperor Menelik and he made the city the capital. Addis Ababa has seen many things every time the leaders of the country change. The city was modernized at the time of Empeor menelik and Haile Selassie. Emperor Haile Selassie made the city the capital of Africa too. When Italians occupied Ethiopia, the architecture in some areas of Addis Ababa became italic. 30,000 Addis Ababa people has also been killed in just 2 days when they tried to kill the leader of the Itallian colonizers. After the down fall of Haile Selassie, the city lost its power. War exceeded in the country and development was slow.


Addis Ababa is still the capital of Ethiopia but there are many other Ethiopian cities which looks beautiful than Addis. This was made on purpose (political issue)

Some people think Ethiopians are beautiful. That is nice but I wonder how many people come to Addis to enjoy the city.There are many things to see here but people just keep focusing on the ladies now that Ethiopia only have ladies to watch.

I am not blaming you at all, I wanted to say this long ago.

It is strange. Actually I am studying an Ethiopian ancient language named Ge'ez and my Muslim friend understood all I was saying when I speak the language. She says it's very similar with Arabic. Amharic pronounciation and words have similarity with Arabic too. Majority Ethiopians have some Arab blood when checked in DNA test.
