Lolz. Okay, let's not overhype the books now. It's well written and crafted with a few plotholes, but thing is, it feels like a bible. Longish, convoluted plot lines, king James english, unnecessary subplots, etc. What the movie did is to chop it down to to the basics, take the exciting titbits, edit it together, and turn it into 12 hours of epic adventure.

So, yeah, the movie trilogy is straight to the point, and thus, more exciting than the books that tend to meander too long on things that didn't really matter. For instance, the Tom Bombadil and Old Man Willow subplots.

I had more fun reading the ridiculous Hunter Games trilogy than the overrated LoTR trilogy, tbh.

That's actually why we love the book. All those bits of lore, poetry, tales and experiences. Longish? I wasn't ready to stop when I got to the last page of The Return of The King. The King James English helped with immersion. It was easier to picture what the book was painting.
I won't argue the Tom Bombadil and Old Man Willow exclusion. Can't say I missed them. But I was miffed that they really didn't explore Faramir and Eowyn's romance.
Rating The Hunger Games over LoTR? You slipping Koice. The Hunger Games can't even compare to The Hobbit or The Silmarilion, let alone the OG trilogy.
