TheGoodJoe: If game time is not that important for developing players why do big clubs loan out their young players to lesser clubs or lesser leagues? Game time is a very important part of the development. You have come again with this your "Drills" theory. No matter how much the coach demands from you during training it cannot be like the experience from a real live game! Iheanacho needs that game time now like never before. |

Icon4s: I did not say playing time is not important but I said it is not as important as training under the right system. Players can play and train regularly in a wrong system and show no improvement. While players training under the right system with few game time tend to show tremendous development. That is down to training in the right system and intensity. Nacho is under a brilliant manager. He should learn and train regularly under him and will show improvement. |

Icon4s: Why are you like Iheanacho needs game time? He has had more game time than most players his age, what he needs now is development 1 Like |

Earthquake2: Development without game time? What I said is he needs more game time to aid his development. |

TheGoodJoe: This was what u said when he was under Pep I just hope this Rodgers' tenure will favor Iheanacho else I don't know what defense mechanism u will come up with again. 2 Likes |

Icon4s: I said the same under Pep. Unfortunately, Nacho chose to move for game time and landed in an unfavorable system. I hope he sticks to Rodgers and grinds it out this time. |

TheGoodJoe: We do have an AFCON later this year. So is the process worth not making the team? |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 4:32pm On Feb 28, 2019 |
BascoVanVeli: Nacho needs to keep working on improving himself. At the AFCON we need quality than playing time merchants. What is the use of playing time if he goes to a system where he will not develop and the pattern of play would not suit him. He will get nods to play due to the intensity of the system but his improvement remains the priority. |

TheGoodJoe: So are you saying he should just focus on training and be kept out of the real playing time? Are you saying playing time is not part of development? Or what are you saying? |

mostob: Well, truly end products matter. But when there arent even time to start the product nko? it means the end raw materials starts to rot like imported rice that the nigerian customs seized last year. The young player now starts to bother only about getting playing time even if he is potentially messi. Thats just it to me. See the Lukaku that is all fat and yet still play. Yeah his talent aint in doubt, but his size wouldave forced many managers to bench him. Man U fans complain alot, but now as he score two goals goan see the same peeps hailing him like a god. lol overall, even if youre mesi, and you dont see playing time, it will affect end product. Iwobi is the perfect Nigerian footballer example. 1 Like |

TheGoodJoe: Let's wait and see what Rodgers think of Nacho first... I'm still laughing at this your "Brendan Rodgers is a genius" statement sha.. E too funny whalai!/ You have no idea the type of talent Rodgers had at his disposal at Liverpool and the many players he sighed but couldn't get the best out of.. A good example is Lazar Markovic! |

BascoVanVeli: Neither will the coach select him if he is having a run of poor games due to playing in the wrong system. Nacho's best bet is to strap his boots and start training like a beast. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 6:12pm On Feb 28, 2019 |
Icon4s: I do not know how else to explain it. If playing time comes, good. If it does not, Nacho should continue grinding it out in training. Improving his quality, especially his work rate. If he continues improving, there will be a time he will get a fair run of games. I am not saying playing time is not part of development but it is a small part of it. The main part of it happens behind the scenes and if Nacho pays attention, he will improve. |

gustav25: In fact, Luka Modric was widely considered a flop in the first year of his big-money move from Tottenham to Real Madrid. Spanish newspaper Marca conducted a poll to determine who fans believed was the worst La Liga signing in 2012 and Madrid’s new diminutive £30 million acquisition came out on top ahead of Alex Song with a significant 32.2 percent of the vote. Having only made 19 appearances, scoring one goal and averaging 38 minutes per game by the end of December, it is easy to see why Modric was considered a flop early on at the Bernabeau. https://www.google.com/amp/s/the18.com/soccer-entertainment/luka-modric-named-laliga-worst-signing-2012%3famp Flopping is not the end of a career but bouncing back through perseverance and hardwork. |

gustav25: I do not use flop in general because I believe there are factors that affect performances, try to find the factors, eliminate them and perform better. You might focus on shouting flop up and down. My focus is what steps can Nacho take to blossom. I derive joy in seeing people overcome their obstacles in life. Not celebrating challenges people are facing. Food for thought. 2 Likes |
