He has a good team but he's a poor coach.I like the idea of young players really performing under him and playing really well but I don't see him lasting.Every ball was sent to Vinicus even though he was doing nothing with them as both Pique and Roberto didn't allow him do anything.He didn't even disturb Alba in the game and was too one dimensional.Had Vinicus crossing the ball when Benzema wasn't even attacking in the box.Lacked ideas especially in the 2nd half and his substitutions were really predictable and lacked any dynamism.Valverde really just outclassed him.

I beg to differ on going forward.I even said it here in the first leg of Copa Del Rey at Camp Nou when Semedo was our man of the match that he nearly gave me a heart attack in the first half of that match as he was really pushing forward and neglecting his defensive duties and Vinicus was exposing him.The Varane own goal at the 2nd leg was him playing that great pass to Dembele.Roberto don't have that vision and he doesn't have that attacking threat that Semedo carries.Semedo going forward is like having an extra RW when we attack while Roberto is like having a RM

well I still prefer Roberto to Semedo, Semedo relies on his speed, Roberto relies on his brain. Some things Roberto did in this match Semedo can only hope to learn. Positioning is learnt, especially for defending against faster players. Semedo doesn't have that particular skill. If Semedo had started this match again against Vinicus jnr, Vinicus jnr and Madrid would have smiled home.

under Zidane, Madrid played side over load, especially using Carvajal's wing, and swinging crosses to Ronaldo. In this Madrid team, only two players run at defenses, Vinicus and Modric. Bale tried and was swiftly nullified. Alba and Lenglet were too mobile for anyone attacking through there, and Busi was always offering support to that wing. Even Asensio suffered the same, so the thing to do was use Vinicus' pace, space behind Roberto when he overlaps, and hope that Pique will falter. However, when that worked for like 5 minutes, Valverde brought on Vidal, na so thing end. Vidal offers us a whole lot, always throwing himself into tackles and trying to win as many balls as possible. Its just nice that Valverde had the measure of Solari too

And why are people cumming over Vidal? He did well today. Don't expect this kind of performance from him again until the next classico. I hope he keep up. But I'm not expecting.

I don't really think Roberto is actually better neither is Semedo.Both offer us different things.Roberto is for games where we need defensively stability while Semedo is for games in which we need to really attack.

What game did you watch??Dembele tracked back when needed.Not his fault daft Solari decided to send all his balls to Vinicus as Alba was baby bothered and hence no need for Dembele to really track back in the game.Every other thing was spot on

Watching this match and watching Wednesday's match, Vinicus jnr against Semedo, Vinicus jnr against Roberto... Its damn obvious that Roberto is better than him. Especially going forward nd even defensively

Valverde was spot on today..
Pique was a beast and Messi didn't even need to get into Top gear..
One way or the other I don't know why something inside me just has a way of downplaying our very good performances this season in the league or cup since its not the UCL.
Champions League is the real deal.

Seriously i wonder if you people watch barca matches or just follow livescores. How can a normal barca fan that watches games week in weekly say roberto is better than semedo defensively. Do you know how many defensive disasterclasses roberto has dropped at the rb position in the past 3 years?

Semedo is world class defensively, pique plays better when semedo is on the field. Roberto has been hprrible defensively this season, he had his best game of the season yesterday.

I kind of agree with IKON360, wait did you just say last 3 years?? Dude has been our saviour at that position and has played well for someone who that isn't his natural position.
The recent classicos shows the difference, Semedo struggled against Vinicius but Roberto pocketed him.
infact Roberto did better bearing the scenario(Home advantage which Semedo also had and the intensity of the game was more)
So Semedo still lags behind Roberto defensively

It's just a shame about semedo's situation at barca. One bad game and he gets benched but roberto gets away with consistent disasterclasses but still starts.


Same problem with malcom...I'm not still impressed with valverde. He will soon turn malcom to denis suarez.
