sure, but there simply no need for higher buildings. Skyscrapers, might it be as office building or living quarter (or both) have to be economically reasonable in order to be built. Since the government sees no reason to support an unnecessary high building just to please our nation’s ego (unlike other countries which see it as a cause for national pride to have the tallest building of the world), there is no skyscraper build for politcial reasons.

If there are neither economical nor political reasons to build a skyscraper, then why build one? nonetheless Accra still boast of 26 storey building.(vitiago)..with finest architectural design.

Germany has skyscraper but not as much as that of usa.( they are lot of skyscraper in Frankfurt) . Europe in general has fewer less skyscraper, In some cities like Munich it is indeed forbidden to build buildings higher then a certain height just to preserve the historic skyline and same apply to other city in Europe.

Despite the huge number of skyscrapers in Dubai, it can not be compare with London or Berlin in terms of development.

You dont need to:

Compare the french cities with cities with more skyscraper. Take New York. The destiny of population is way higher in New York. At the Same time there is no place to grow into the green belts outside the city. That’s why cities like New York or Shanghai grow into the air.

You can’t:

Sometimes the soil and ground is not right for skyscraper. It is good to have a hard ground with rocks and stone to have a good foundation for the high rising building. Accra is as far i know not the best place to build in case of condition of the ground.
