lanre316:How is Christian hip hop exactly bad, I've been listening for more than six years and yet to find any problem with it |

If you think true Christian hip hop is bad, you're just an hypocrite. I have many songs on my phone and I can post the lyrics here for you to see. What other better way to get the gospel to the youths than chh? |

sacx: So do you think the spirit cannot give life through a message delivered in rap form. For me, The problem is not the mode of passing the message( as the spirit of God works in different ways), i believe it's about who is sending the message. Though a rap message might not strike a note to you, it definitely does to someone in an urban ( black) community. Though you might not flow with it, the spirit can use these rap songs to Minister to someone who's always loved to listen to rap. Christian rap might not be for you, but its definitely for someone else. So don't totally condemn it. Personally, I know how much an effect these songs have had invited life. 1. Boasting - Lecrae 2. Background - Lecrae 3. Playing for you- Lecrae 4. Where was I - Da'Truth 5. Divine intervention - Lecrae and many many more. 1 Like |

"Boasting" (feat. Anthony Evans) [Chorus:] If this life has anything to gain at all I'll count it loss if I can't hear you, feel you, 'cause I need you. Can't walk this earth alone. I recognize I'm not my own, so before I fall I need to hear you, feel you, as I live to make my boast in you alone. [Verse 1:] With every breath I take, with every heart beat, Sunrise and the moon lights in the dark street. Every glance, every dance, every note of a song. It's all a gift undeserved that I shouldn't have known. Every day that I lie, every moment I covet I'm deserving to die, I'm just earning your judgment. I, without the cross there's only condemnation. If Jesus wasn't executed there's no celebration. So in times that are good, in times that are bad For any times that I've had it all I will be glad. And I will boast in the cross. I'll boast in my pains. I will boast in the sunshine, boast in his reign. What's my life if it's not praising you? Another dollar in my bank account of vain pursuit. I do not count my life as any value or precious at all. Let me finish my race, let me answer my call. [Chorus] [Verse 2:] Tomorrow's never promised, but it is we swear. Think we holding our own, just a fist full of air. God has never been obligated to give us life. If we fought for our rights, we'd be in hell tonight. Mere sinners owed nothing but a fierce hand. We never loved him, we pushed away his pierced hands. I rejected his love, grace, kindness, and mercy. Dying of thirst, yet, willing to die thirsty. Eternally worthy, how could I live for less? Patiently you turned my heart away from selfishness. I volunteer for your sanctifying surgery. I know the Spirit's purging me of everything that's hurting me. Remove the veil from my darkened eyes. So now every morning I open your word and see the Son rise. I hope in nothin, boast in nothin, only in your suffering. I live to show your glory, dying to tell your story. [Chorus] [Bridge:] Glory was solely meant for you. Doing what no one else could do. With All I have to give, (With all I have to Give) I'll use my life, I'll use my lips. (My Lips Yeaaah) I'll only glory in your Word. What gift to me I don't deserve. I'll live in such a way that it reflects to you, my Praise. This is the lyrics of Lecrae's Boasting. Now tell me what's bad about this. Infact, you could as well tell me Tye Tribbet is not a Christian singer since his songs are high pitched, fast paced and sound like rock music. 1 Like 1 Share |

The guy is on Andy's level lyrically. Canon is a speed demon, his first track I listened to was "go off" |

Harshirama:Really? And why do you have to rap or do hip hop to preach a Gospel? Because you want to appeal to emotions. No wonder, those that were brought into the church through *Christian* hip hop are false converts... 1 Like |
Re: Christian Hip Hop: A Look At The New Trend by Harshirama(m): 5:20pm On Mar 03, 2019 |
onlyinJESUS: Other forms of Christian music must be false then since they have similarities with secular music. Why do we use drums or the keyboard in a church if it's used in secular music then?. Lecrae has gone on several missionary tours, dude has preached in prisons and schools |

RTSC: Church, are we family or are we strangers? Listen, there’s no love without labor And if there’s no love, then we’re in danger [Chorus] There's a Heaven and we all wanna go Does anybody wanna fall on the sword Take my hand, I just want you to know Healing begins when you call on the Lord [Verse 2] I remember Dr. King say he gon stick with love He said that in spite of everyone he suspicious of Yo, that’s the part that make me wonder Like Jesus saw his enemies before they left him bleeding on some lumber How is this worldly please |

Harshirama:Yea that why he hoped or wanted to feature Kendrick Lamar (another So-called Christian rapper) Porn is a type of movie, since we both know that porn ain't good. Does that mean that other types of movie are likewise perverted? |

Re: Christian Hip Hop: A Look At The New Trend by onlyinJESUS: 5:38pm On Mar 03, 2019 |
Harshirama: Question; why must you use hip hop? Isn't there any other way by which your message can be communicated? |
Re: Christian Hip Hop: A Look At The New Trend by Harshirama(m): 5:40pm On Mar 03, 2019 |
onlyinJESUS: Hip hop is basically poetry fused into music. These guys have the talent and are using it in the Christian circle. Simple |

I used to be among those that are against gospel hiphop not until I took a step closer and I discovered what a veritable tool it is. in fact as a youth, no genre of gospel music hits u rightly like gospel rap. I have met a number of people who have been saved through this. if u have never listened to any, please don't be quick to condemn. Da Truth. US lecrae. US Jahaziel. UK Spokesman Nigerian. Bouqui. Nigerian the music of the above artists but to mention a few are among what has kept me going in faith during trying times. Back then in school (ABU), gospel rap was the bomb. Any concert without gospel emcees to me then was a no no. funny enough, many of those gospel rappers are better than the contemporary rappers we listen to. if u wan catch monkey, u better learn to act like 1. 3 Likes |
