Well,I will say we see America differently although 2 million Ghanaians is grossly over stated.Buh put it as this,90% of Ghanaian emigrants are in the USA alone.We hardly think of any developed country,not even Canada crosses a Ghanaian's mind.And about seeking better living standards,we have it all here.Ghana might seem different from the rest of Africa,our population is bare 30 million,we have every basic infrastructure that we need to support even a 60 million population by African standards,economically we live modestly like the Europeans,we don't gather massive resources by hook or by crook,something simple is very ok,the Nigerians come here in mass and gets surprise with our level of satisfaction upon all the numerous opportunities and ability to make it big in a little populated country and mistakenly see us as lazy,they come here both their rich and poor and it's like Europe to them,they say we're too gentle and slow buh very friendly.Education,health,electricity,water roads,food and business opportunities are abound to tap in in all the towns.Even about 80% of our rural areas have electricity and good water projects and basic facilities.It's best if we travel to USA and UK,get world recognized certificates and come back to the government agencies and private institutions.That's the normal motives.And we know very little or nothing about Africa especially our younger ones.Most younger Ghanaians have never heard of Ethiopia,Tanzania,even Kenya and most of Africa.We hope to change that

i know the embassy very well, it is very close to the French residence , ANOTHER beautiful area. Accra version of Victoria island in lagos.

i wonder if 1 billion dollar is spent on any embassy built by American on any African soil apart from Ghana.

NIGERIA also did well in this regard.

I remember a mention of Ghana in my primary's Social Studies.We had this triangle of mineral towns which composed of Accra,Kumasi and Takoradi if I'm not wrong! Another big mention from Ghana was of course Kwame Nkurumah! I mean we learned lot's of stuff,I till this day remember of Samori Ture of Guinea the tough fighter who made the French forces labour for their win against his well equipped army! Talk of political legends like Leopold Senghor of Senegal and more great figures.Our curriculum is and was truly Pan African!
