AS IGBOS ARE CLAIMING OWNERSHIP OF LAGOS, CALLING YORUBAS COWARDS, BETRAYALS, SHOW THEM THIS POST...

During the June 12, 1993 Presidential election, Abiola won only Anambra State, the other South East States voted for Tofa (a northerner). Cross River, Delta, Edo voted for Abiola. An Igbo person (Arthur Nzeribe) got an overnight black-market judgment to annul Abiola's election; when it was becoming obvious that he would win.

Note that the Igbo man together with a northerner (the judge) and military dictator IBB(another northerner) saw to the annulment of the election. I need not remind you that the Electoral Chairman (Professor Humphrey Nwosu ) at that time was also an Igbo man. In 2008 he published a book in which he claimed that Babangida was not to blame for annulling the election.

During the fights to restore democracy, great Nigerians like Frank Kokori, Alfred Rewane, Ken Saro Wiwa, Kudirat Abiola, Gani Fawehinmi, Abraham Adesanya, Wole Soyinka and other democracy activists fought against Abacha. Some of them were killed, others hounded out of the country, Odumegwu Ojukwu and his colleagues were busy frolicking with Abacha, he even traveled to the US at a time to shore up the image of Abacha (a northerner who was trying to turn himself into a democratic life-president).
That reminds me, another "Kanu" back then organized the "Youth Earnestly Ask for Abacha" rally. Onyeka Onwenu sang the praises of Abacha at the rally.

These guys wined and dined with the conservative northern oligarchs back in the day; but now that the arrangement is no longer suitable, they think burning down the country should be the only way out. Me think, that is childish; only infants try to scatter the game when they lose.

Till date, no Yoruba group has come out to call Igbo people "betrayals", "cowards" or "animals" for the action of some Igbo elites. We understand that the elites do not represent an entire ethnic group.

Next time, they call Yoruba people betrayals show them this post; next time they claim they own Lagos, next time they call us cowards, tell them, the only successful offensive ever undertaken by Biafra against Nigerian territory was led by a Yoruba man, Victor Banjo. Remind them also that cowards don't build empires.

They should also be reminded that their enemy is not the man from the other tribe, but their own "elites". They should learn to hold their leaders to account tori awa ko lobatiwon je.

My dear Seun osewa, you will be the most celebrated Nigerian if you close these tribal threads littered all over this forum in a timely fashion.

Elections have come and gone, but because Nigerians are hungry and unemployed, coming here to throw tribal slurs has been their go-to source for killing boredom and hunger.

Please do something bro, let the mods do their jobs.

the best thing is to divide this country, let every tribe go with their senses. we are not one country, there's no love between us, looking at this write up , the OP wrote names of activists that fought abacha's govt and no Igbo person was mentioned, now so if someone is living in your state the person don't have his right to vote for a candidate of his or her choice ? Lagos belong to Yorubas but let people have their freedom to vote !!!! go to the east people from other tribes are living there without any form of harassment, they do vote without being harassed, but in Lagos most areas dominated by other tribes are payed less attention, look at ajao estate for example upon its under the nose of international airport yet the Lagos state govt don't do any developments there, look at inner part of ago palace area. Nothing against the Yorubas but let's find peace always, and let's also think we all have brothers and sisters in other states too. u will be surprised to see the number of Yorubas living in Enugu or Hausas living in Owerri, it's always peaceful and calm over there unlike in other parts of this country.

Op, you need to realise that most of the urchins jumping around online were only born 20 years ago. So they have no recollection of what you narrated.

If some people are shown the history of their people in Nigeria, most of them will deactivate out of shame.

Quiet a history. The Igbos are quick to call the Yorubas all manners of names reflecting their through identities just for people not to notice those attributes in them.

In actual sense they are the Hausa slaves, betrayers and cowards.

I have a message to those who sow hatred in the heart of men..... This message is from the almighty God who is a consuming Fire.

To those of you who are sowing seeds of discord among people, to those who have been paid to create havoc and hatred,

and to those who have joy in seeing confusion and division,

This is what the Lord says.....

That he by himself will work against you and your generations. Your path in life shall be dark and slippery....

That the angels of the Lord shall pursue you on this slippery slope.

God asked me to tell you that peace will elude you, that the sun, the moon and the starts shall hunt you...

The air you breathe shall work against your lungs....

You will waste away in terrible ailments and no one will be able to come close to help you...
God's mercy shall be taken away from you

....and if you do not repent,

Your death shall be swift and painful, No one shall see your corpse to bury you.

Desist.

You have been warned.

This is a message from God.

Igbos are peaceful, that's why they can easily leave their comfort zones to go live in the ends of the earth. Yes, a few of them might be abusive, loud and proud, it should not be mistaken to be the attitude of generality of the igbos.

Yorubas on the other hand are friendly and accommodating, fun to be with. My best friends during my primary and secondary school days are Yoruba. They are an intelligent bunch with great passion for learning and research. A few of them might be unruly and toutish but one thing that I know is that they are not COWARDS. A tribe with ambassadors such as Wole Soyinka and Co cannot be ascribed as such.

The Hausas are friendly, honest and loyal. If you secure the true loyalty and love of an Hausa man, you can be rest assured that the word betrayal will be alien to you. Just don't cross the red line of religion and their women and you are good to go.

Please let's see the good in one another.

We have nothing to gain by spreading hate.

You forgot to state that it was a Yoruba man, Mr Davis, Director of Operation, Association of Better Nigeria, a Pro-Babangida group (equivalent of Buhari Support Group) that stood as a plaintiff to procure the injunction.

Just to tag Igbos as slave to Northerners, you mischievously stated that the Judge that gave the ruling was a Northerner when it was Bassey from Calabar that did.

You also forgot to state that when ABN procured the injunction, an Igbo-man led NEC promptly issued a statement, disregarding the court order, stating that the election would go on as scheduled and they immediately filed a counter-affidavit that the jurisdiction of the court had been ousted by Section 19(1) of Decree 13 of 1993.

NEC did not only hold the election as scheduled but also conducted a credible election and started releasing the results.

When ABN saw that Abiola is leading in 14 states, they ran to court again to obtain an order to stop the further release of the results of the election.

Justice Saleh, a Pro-Babangida immediately granted the order stopping further announcement of the result.

You equally forgot that the Igbo-man led NEC remained adamant. Its lawyer went to Court of Appeal, Kaduna, armed with the full result which it filed along with its notice of appeal.

Sensing that the full result had been filed at the Court of Appeal, the Babangida government quickly announced the cancellation of the whole election process, blaming it on the need to save the judiciary from embarrassment.

You intentionally refused to highlight the roles NEC played to safeguard the mandate of Abiola just to spread hatred.

Goodluck Boss.

I just feel that the hatred some Yoruba have for Igbo is deep and irredeemable. I begin to imagine that this hatred is way deeper than is visible. These crop of evil people are already talking about slaughtering Igbo in large numbers at their appointed time. I have seen one idiot on internet openly canvassing violent death for Igbo people in Lagos. Another dimension is persistent labelling of Igbo people as pigs. I want to tell these people to slow down with their campaign of hate and wickedness. What they seek might turn the tide against them in a way they never knew. No one, I repeat no group can suppress another group in Nigeria. We are all Nigerians and we all have equal opportunities. You people are living in the one Nigeria your parents fought for. Nigeria is one and it shall remain so. All hands must be on deck to promote the rule of law, equal rights and justice. Any form of apartheid in Nigeria is dead on arrival.
