Buhari Under Pressure To Replace Emefiele With A Northerner--Bloomberg by SanusiGworo: 6:16pm On Mar 05, 2019

Governor Godwin Emefiele’s first term expires in early June
President Buhari may replace him with someone from the north.
Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari has come under pressure from his political allies to replace central bank Governor Godwin Emefiele when his term ends in June, according to people familiar with the matter.

While Buhari is yet to make a final decision, he is mulling replacing Emefiele, a southerner, with a northerner, according to two people, who asked not to be identified as the matter is private. Emefiele would want a second term if he is offered it, one of the people said. Since the end of military rule in 1999 no Nigerian central bank governor has served more than one term.

Emefiele sent a letter to Buhari informing him that his term ended in three months, according to one of the people. Buhari replied thanking Emefiele for his service, but without giving more details, the person said.

Politics is investment. You invest and reap. You cannot invest 5% votes and expect CBN governorship position. Katsina, Kano, Kaduna, Kebbi, Kogi, Kwara a.k.a The Kardashians deserve the position because they invested about 70% of their votes. It is unGodly to rob Peter in order to pay Paul. South East can continue to hold the Minister of Labour where there is always crisis and troubles and Minister for Extenal Affairs to help lie to international community that we are enjoying in Nigeria. If you want to talk about competence, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi ran CBN better than Godwin Emefiele.

The major qualifications for getting appointment under Buhari are just two

1) Being a NORTHERNER

2) Being a MUSLIM

I voted for Atiku because unlike Buhari, he is detribalised.
Atiku considers merit and competence. He shops for best brains irrespective of tribe and religion.

Yes, Atikuloot is very detribalized. He has a wife called Titi from Yoruba land. He has another wife called Jennifer Douglas from Igboland. He also has several concubines from all the tribes of the country. Not forgetting his several authentic wives from the North. A man whose dicck cannot stay for long inside one pusssy is never to be trusted.

If not for a few railway lines and airport terminal projects which GEJ negotiated loan agreements with China

and which the Chinese government itself is executing directly using CCECC, Buhari would not have had anything

to campaign with because he lined up his govt with square pegs in round holes

We didn't ask for it. How about yorubas who invested so much? We enjoyed cbn governor, senate president, chief of army taff, finance minister, custom, nysc DG, NPC DG, AMCON DG many uncountable high profile positions in previous governments we invested in. We made sure there was north/south balance. Yorubas keep clinging on their inconsequential mere commissioner while the north cart away everything in a government they have supposedly invested in, causing unprecedented cheating of the south. Yoruba should get the southern quota, very soon buhari era will elapse and apc will die then they would have wasted 8years being better than igbo than being the best of what they can

So? Was it not a southerner who had just completed his tenure? Even Emir sanusi wasn't allowed to finish his tenure like emefiele was allowed to, before giving the sack by Jonathan.

And what have these states you mentioned contributed to Nigeria other than Banditry and terrorism to deserve the position ??
Southern resources keeps Nigeria going. So going by your warped reasoning, there should be nothing for the northerners

Jega, a northerner completed his tenure in INEC buhari replaced him with a northerner. Fire service boss was just replaced with another northerner. Northerners finished at DSS and supreme court. Osibanjo appointed southerners, buhari came back and replaced them with northerners

nothing is new in nigeria again, federal character doesn't exist anymore. Even if he replaces a southerner with a northerner it won't be a news, central bank of the north(cbn), northern nigeria petroleum company(nnpc) and independent northern electoral commission(inec) na dem get all. Power doesn't last forever.

Don't mind these clannish centred minded ppl; he probably didn't even read the part that said, 'since 1990 no CBN governor had been appointed the 2nd term'
Besides, when his bloda GEJ wrongfully sacked SLS for doing the right (reporting grand theft) did northerners complained like he and his ppl are doing now?
