Why Is Jimi Agbaje Always Playing The Politics Of Tribalism In Lagos? by nairavsdollars(f): 9:17am On Mar 07, 2019 |
In the history of Lagos politics, no politician has ran a divisive, ethnic-based and tribalistic campaign like Jimi Agbaje, governorship candidate of the PDP. When Jimi Agbaje contested the 2007 governorship election under the defunct Democratic Peoples Allliance (DPA), he ran a very robust, issue-based campaign which was acceptable to all Lagosians. Fast forward to 2015, Jimi Agbaje began a campaign of calumny which seeks to knock the heads of Yorubas living in Lagos against non-indigenes, especially our Igbo brothers from South- East. His promise to elevate Eze Ndigbo to the status of Oba of Lagos greatly angered Oba Rilwan Akiolu, making him to utter the notorious 'perish in the Lagoon' comment? Now Agbaje as the PDP governorship candidate is running the same campaign again which has pitched Igbos living in Lagos against Yoruba. We say enough is enough. Yeyesewa of Lagos 104 Likes 5 Shares

hisexcellency34: That's not the issue. The issue is, Jimi has a pharmaceutical firm which he run for years. How successful has he gone with it. I was privileged to interact with Jimi in House J in ikeja, I am not convinced he will make a good governor 122 Likes 5 Shares |

nairavsdollars: That's how you people go about lying like kids. At no time did Agbaje say he will upgrade the Eze Ndigbo to the same level as the Oba of Lagos. If anybody is divisssive, it is the APC governemt who are hell bent on twarting democracy by intimidating people who they think do not want to vote for them. 90 Likes 7 Shares |

Stop igniting this media war and hate against NDI IGBO! I would rather advise you treat them as "Lagosians" instead, as they are in all ramifications In chemistry, the law of definite proportion, sometimes called Proust's law or the law of definite composition, or law of constant composition states that a given chemical compound (Ndi Igbo) always contains its component elements in fixed ratio by mass (by vote) and does not depend on its source (Abia,Enugu,Ebonyi,Anambra,Imo) and method of preparation (PDP or APC). In the words of Joseph Priestley, and Antoine Lavoisier We shall conclude by deducing from these experiments (2019 election) the principle we have established at the commencement of this memoir (election campaign), viz. that iron (Ndi Igbo) like many other metals (ethnic groups) is subject to the law of nature which presides at every true combination, that is to say, that it unites with constant proportions of oxygen (other ethinic groups alive). In this respect it does not differ from tin(Hausas), mercury(Fulanis), and lead(Yorubas), and, in a word, almost every known combustible (ethnic group). Kindly stop pointing those accusing fingers of yours towards a successful tribe, stop hating them. OP you actually need a high level of stoichiometry in your life! 35 Likes 3 Shares |

The truth is that the last election was full of rigging for Buhari in Lagos State . Igbos in Lagos are more than 5 million. If 2 millions come to vote for PDP that means APC is gone. Igbos will win up to 7 seats in Lagos Assembly come Saturday. Our vote will be the decider. I am happy that most lgbo guy are relocating to Lagos everyday to stay and establish. While Yorubas are moving out towards Ogun state due to high cost of rent. PDP will win on Sat. 38 Likes 5 Shares |

It is indeed quite sad that at this point in our history those who have benefited so much from the system now want to destroy it before they exit. Many of these politicians went to secondary schools sponsored by missionaries where they got the best of education for next to nothing, unlike now that you pay through your nose to even send your ward to primary school. They attended universities in those days of heavily subsidised university education where they paid next to nothing for accommodation and for feeding due to heavy subsidies, and when tuition was free. They even schooled abroad at the expense of the federal government. In their days, you are guaranteed a job once you graduate, and you got a car within a year or two. Their generation did not talk tribe. Yorubas were in Federal Government College, Kaura Namoda and Sokoto and Igbos were in Government College, Odogbolu. They ate and played soccer together and no one spoke about tribe. Now they are rich and old, and they want to scatter the table by inciting one tribe against the other. I wish that our youth can be discerning and shun those who try to divide the nation, just for their own good. Agreed, the other party in Lagos need to be curbed of their excesses, but the people should not just scuttle the progress the state has currently, until there is a better proposition, apart from tribal jingles. 22 Likes 1 Share |

Hogwash! Remember how the elections of last two weeks panned out? Tinubu was recorded referring to the Igbos (and by extension, other tribes in the South) as "Awon Okoros" which is meant in a derogatory manner. APC thugs disrupted the elections in Igbo-dominated areas of Lagos. How dare you accuse Jimi Agbaje of what you, the sanctimonious preéks of the APC, birthed and fuel with every action? 36 Likes 5 Shares |

. The fact that this 'opinion based' 'sourceless' write up pushing a baseless accusation against a gubernatorial front-runner made front page shows the kind of desperation that the APC and its minions will resort to. Who said Igbos should drown in the Lagoon? http://dailypost.ng/2015/04/06/anyone-that-does-not-vote-ambode-will-be-thrown-into-lagoon-oba-of-lagos-warns-igbos/ Who said Igbos MUST vote APC? https://www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2019/02/21/you-must-vote-apc-tinubu-tells-lagos-igbo-community/ Who said if Igbos don't vote APC we know what to do? https://guardian.ng/politics/why-ndigbo-must-vote-apc-by-tinubu/?F Who attacked Igbo dominated polling units? https://www.vanguardngr.com/2019/02/breakingvideo-pandemonium-as-thugs-set-cast-votes-ablaze-at-ago-palace-way/ https://www.vanguardngr.com/2019/02/electionday-police-arrest-4-in-lagos-over-alleged-burning-of-ballot-boxes/ Who attacked Igbo owned shops? https://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2019/02/27/hoodlums-attack-igbo-traders-on-lagos-island-for-failure-to-vote-for-buhari/ Who has been on nairaland day-in-day-out insulting igbos and denigrating them with despicable names? (do really I need to post the list of handles guilty for this?) WAS IT JIMI AGBAJE THAT DID ALL THESE?!!! Who planted the news claiming Abgaje said he will elevate Eze Ndigbo to 1st Class status in 2015? I challenge any APC supporter online and offline to provide proof (Mainstream print media or Audio) where Agbaje said he will elevate Eze Ndigbo to first class status ...and yet you insult Lagosians further by claiming it was the person on the receiving end that launched the attack? THIS ATTACK ON IGBOS HAS BEEN A CAREFULLY ORCHESTRATED PLAN BY THE APC AND ITS MINIONS TO VICTIMISE A TRIBE AND LABEL THEM AS THE ENEMY IT IS DESPICABLE!! The irony is that almost every single person especially including the online so-called Lagos 'warlords' are not even from LAGOS! They are feeding fat not on any dignifying enterprise but on the sweat of hardworking, well meaning Lagosians in a miasma of kaksitrocatic Owo-mi-da ideology masquerading behind circular spectacles and hats of a past progressive. https://www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2019/03/05/lagos-igbo-crises-a-time-to-be-counted/ . 35 Likes 7 Shares

Lol, this OP is such a disgusting shameless liar. The manner your post hurriedly made front-page ... I know it's sponsored but only daft illiterate YORUBA peeps will buy your propaganda. Where and when did Jimi ever promise to raise the status of Eze Ndigbo to that of Oba of Lagos? See, the people running tribal campaign are you and APC that feel you can only win Lagos by fanning tribal sentiments as you did in 2015. Igbos identify with Jimi because he is from a business background like them. Jimi is a trader in pharmaceuticals. He is a polished Lagosian to the core, a full blooded Yoruba man. Count him out of your lies. . 31 Likes 2 Shares |

Nigeria has been divided inter-ethno religiously... This is the result but in all honesty in the east any politician that plays this kind of political game in the east is done-for!!! Our eastern brothers that are here know the truth but playing hypocritical politics.. You re asking for six-cabinet members in APC govt and you think even if you spend all your savings to campaign for JK(am one of JK hardened supporter in my area) no Yoruba party will cede to that request Am only imploring you don't take steps that will be hard to correct politically cos govt policies might affect ur bizness either way...JK u ave my vote but pls stop pitching one region against another...
