Where your certificate cannot take you, your sabificate (what you know and understand, the skill you possess) can take you beyond .So,when you acquire certificate, also acquire sabificate .

Make sure you have the sabificate of anything that you have the certificate, having both places you heads and shoulders above your peers.

When you are certified, also get 'SABIFIED

How many times you have applied for a job and not had a reply? Perhaps you posted your CV on a job site and waited for the phone to ring and yet it never does? The chances are that you are underselling yourself and that you are missing out on the career opportunity. Let us provide you with some of the facts:-

You only have 10 seconds to create the right impression with your CV

You have around 30 seconds for the reader to decide if they will invite you to an interview

Most people greatly undersell themselves on their CV and don’t know why

It is very important to select the right CV to highlight your skills and experiences.
We have different categories of CV based on your skill, experiences etc.

Tailoring your CV is essential, your CV must highlight skills which matches the recruiter’s need and sometimes you may need to use a different CV template to achieve this .

The first type of CV is the Chronological CV.
Chronological CV sometimes known as a traditional CV is used to match your qualifications and work experience with the requirements for the job role. The CV is structured in reverse chronological order I.e. the most recent qualifications and experience are listed first.

This type of graduate CV template makes it easy for employers to identify potential candidates. It allows you to provide clear details for your qualifications, work history and responsibilities which matches the criteria provided in the job description.

The next type of CV is the Skills-based CV.
This is also known as functional CV,the skills-based CV can be use if you have gaps in your employment history. This type of CV template is also useful if you have limited experience or are applying for a job which is unrelated to your degree.

Employability skills are transferable to different roles and employers. The skills-based CV allows you to focus on the skills you have developed in various areas of your life.

The third Category is Academic CV
Academic CV focuses on educational achievements. Academic CVs are use when applying for lecturing or research based roles.

Although there’s no page limit,it’s important to keep your CV concise and targeted to the role’s requirements, with each section in reverse chronological order.
Ensure that your writing style is scholarly but clearly understood to those outside of your field of interest.

Include details of your specialist skills, research outcomes, conferences attended, professional memberships and publications made.

The next type of CV is Technical.

Technical CV is also known as an IT CV can be use to apply for roles such as Web Developer, IT consultant,Software tester or applications developer.

Finally, the next type of CV is the Video CV
It is used in Customer facing and creative roles in Marketing,Sales and the media.

Unsolicited application is one of the most effective methods when job hunting or when you want to change your job.

Unsolicited application means sending your application and CV to an organization even without seeing their advertisement for that job role.

This is what I advice applicants when they decide to apply to organizations with this method.

The first step is to create a database of companies in their field of study or area of interest.

The next thing is to start forwarding their applications to the email addresses of the companies.

N/B: This is the reason why you need a Professional CV and Cover Letter.(Chat up intelligentdude on whatsap for your Professional CV and Cover Letter: 08134657689)

Your Cover Letter/CV is just like a Sales Letter. It is a document which represents you in your absence more reason you should make sure it highlights your strengths and de-emphasize your weaknesses.

I do advice applicants that unless otherwise stated,it is best they copy and paste their cover letter on the body of their mail and attach their professionally drafted CV.

Your Cover letter should be the first thing the HR sees when he/she opens his/her mail box.

How well are you using Linkedln account?
Is your Linkedln Profile Professionally built?
Do you know that there is a way to build your Linkedln Profile Inorder to get Human Resource Managers interested in you?
Do you know that most recruiting personnel’s now check your Linkedln Profile when you apply to their organization?
Can your Linkedln Profile pass the Litmus test?

Ensure you do a Linkedln Makeover on your profile page and also apply to vacancies advertised on Linkedln.

For your Professional Linkedln Page Optimization/Linkedln Makeover, chat up intelligentdude on whatsap: 08134657689.

Hello all,I would be dropping some thoughts and some opportunities individuals can take advantage of to earn some cash (This applies to all and sundry though)

Kindly note that it is not really about how much you earn but more about how much you can keep and re-invest.

Here are the opportunities:

1) Making Chatbots
You can learn for free how to make Chatbots for companies without coding.
Chatbots are in, and it has reached the point where every business needs one. Chatbots have become a huge opportunity for companies to engage with their customers, gather data, and improve their marketing and customer care efforts. You can start your own chatbot creation business easily and quickly without needing to code.

Visit this link for details: https://landbot.io/blog/how-to-create-a-chatbot-for-website/

2) Personal or Virtual Assistant
Although personal and virtual assistant jobs do not sound glamorous, they do pay well. If you have already held this job in an office, you will find the digital version allows for a lot more freedom. Use services like Upwork.com,Fiver.com and platforms like LinkedIn,Facebook to find clients.
You can choose:
• Your clients
• Your hours
• Your hourly, daily, or monthly pay rate

3) Social Media Consultant
Who doesn’t love Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram? Fancy yourself to be a bit of whiz, but don’t have any formal training? Twitter and Google, among other platforms, offer complete professional courses with recognized certifications that require little to no money. Social media is also a business that has unlimited potential with a client base that can span across the world.

4) Graphic Designer
Companies are always in search for branding that tells people about what they do. If you can follow company guidelines and customer needs, all you will need to get started is a computer and applications such as Photoshop,Crello,Canva or Illustrator.
Types of media you will be responsible for creating include:
• Logos
• Fliers
• Newsletters
• Magazines
• Information sheets
• Letters
• Advertisements

5) Designing Business Plans
Having a eureka moment is great, but it can be hard to put that idea down on paper in a way that will speak to a potential investor. If you have owned your own business in the past or earned a business degree, why not help those with a eureka moment start something they love? Plan your fee around the various packages you are prepared to offer your clients. You can either:
• Create an electronic copy that your client can customize
• Keep a copy on file and continue customizing it according to their needs
• Create various templates that you can show your customers and how you can customize the templates for them accordingly.

6) Informational Product Creator
Similar to blogging or vlogging, creating informational products is your chance to put your expertise in an e-book or some form of digital format and selling it to the online world. Find a niche that's not been overdone and start writing.
You can sell your information piece on platforms such as Amazon Books or to target audience who you feel need the book.

7) Flipping Websites
Flipping a website is the art of buying an already existing website, improving it, and selling it. With the right web development skills, it is a very easy and cheap trade to explore. That said, you need to be able to identify websites that have the potential for improvement.

cool Editorial Services
An editorial services business is easy to start, requires no initial monetary investment, and has a huge potential for expansion. From small and large businesses to authors and students, your client base could be endless. You can offer a variety of services, some of which include:
• Copywriting
• Ghostwriting
• Magazine article writing
• Newspaper article writing
• Web content writing
• Proofreading
• Editing
• Indexing
• Book writing

9) Video Production
There are a number of ways you can use videography to create your own home-based business. There are so many people wanting to become YouTube celebrities who don't have the skills to upload high-quality, well-edited videos. Other services you could offer include:
• Vlog editing
• Creating music videos
• Voice-overs
• Adverts

10) Referral Services
Are you the person who all your friends and family call when they're trying to find a good restaurant, lawyer, car, plumber or gardener? If that's the case and you love referring them to all the lovely businesses you know of in your neighborhood, you could start a business doing just that. You'll be able to work with individuals and businesses, helping customers find what they want, and businesses gain more clients. To get started, you will need to:
• Gather a list of businesses you want on your referral lists
• Sell them the benefits of being on your list
• Place ads online and in the Yellow Pages to gain customers

Do you want to be a valuable intern & increase your chances of a permanent offer? Here are some tips from my @CapricornFM Interview with @Hlekanis .

For a company, internships are a “try before you buy” method. Think of your internship as a very long audition & interview.

1. To stand a good chance of getting a permanent offer, lay the right foundation. This is by having a goals discussion with your manager to understand what success looks like so you can target your efforts.

2. Be explicit about your desire for a full-time role at key intervals.

3. Be visible. Don't assume your manager knows what you're doing. Schedule regular check-ins to maintain momentum. During the check-in's provide; progress update on tasks, key accomplishments & support that you require.

4. Make a habit of asking for feedback from people you work with at the end of major tasks/projects, this will help towards your continuous improvement. Ask these 2 questions; What did I do well? What could I have done differently?

5. Keep track of your accomplishments, an intern portfolio of evidence is a great way to build a case of your value.

6. Deliver ALL your work with the same enthusiasm and eagerness, even the menial tasks.

7. Show initiative, if you come across a problem, make attempts to look for solutions first. When you escalate the matter to your boss, you can illustrate your problem-solving attempts.

8. In the same vein, do not be afraid to ask questions & for help when you need it. This shows curiosity & desire to learn. Harmonize between asking enough questions and pestering.

9. Put your hand up! Especially for tasks no one else wants to do. Sometimes those menial tasks can be a way to build a relationship with a manager.

10. If you're underutilised & feel bored because you're not being allocated work, have casual conversations to find out what colleagues are up to in your department. Make a list of tasks that can help with and ask your manager to get involved.

11. Develop an internal network. It is is not enough for you to be known by your manager only. Make it a point to have a coffee with employees from other departments in order to learn more about their role.

Curriculum Vitae Tips

Some Mistakes graduates make especially experienced Workers are as follows:

1)Putting Education history above work experience and listing both in chronological not reverse chronological order.
Recruiters want to see where you are currently working or your last position on the first page of your CV.

2) Unexplained gaps on your CV. It raises doubts in the recruiter’s mind which normally result in your CV not being shortlisted, unless you are an exceptional candidate whose CV stands out from all the other applicants.

3) Poorly formatted CVs with spelling and grammatical errors. These immediately turn off a recruiter and can lead to your CV being discarded even if you fit all the criteria for the role.

4)Not including a Professional or executive summary on the first page of your CV. Recruiters are not just looking for candidates with the right qualifications and experience, they also want to know about your personal qualities and key skills.

5)When you Email your CV to a recruiter , don’t just sent an attachment with no message or simply refer to where you heard about the job . Treat the message text like a short cover letter where you explain who you are and why you are applying for the job.

Another piece of advice, do not call the document just ‘CV’ or ‘Curriculum Vitae’ or ‘Resume’, make sure you include your name so that recruiters can find it easily when searching through their documents .

Most people make the mistake of sending their documents via their phones and the recruiter will see a prompt like ‘sent from an IPhone etc’. This is not a Professional way if you are serious in Landing a job.

Some people still include age, marital status, local government, gender and some other irrelevant information on their CV.

These information should not find it's way to your CV at all unless if specifically requested by the recruiter (which occurs in rare cases).Infact you do not need a biography section on your CV.

This is because sometimes the criteria for shortlisting candidates is not stated so these biographical parameters might put you at a disadvantage. So to be on the safer side you want to ommit these information from your CVs.

In addition,if the recruiter already has some bias or stereotypes for a certain tribe and that happens to be the tribe which the candidate has stated on his CV,if care is not taken it can ruin the candidate's chance of getting employed. So you want to stay safe by ommiting these information .

Hope someone has taken some learnings.

With the increased use of ATS(Applicant Tracking Systems)in the recruiting process ,there are somethings we need to know.

Applicant tracking systems are continuously evolving and getting more sophisticated,so what may have been a big CV “no-no” few years ago is now more accepted .

ATS hates:

1)Profile pictures

2)Graphics

3)Icons

4)Italics

5)Symbols

6)Mixed fonts

7)Graphs

coolTables

9)Font size smaller than 11points

10)Text boxes

-Tiny Standard bullet points are fine
-ATS does not like “design”
-ATS likes boring simple

Remember to ‘stuff your CV/Resume with relevant Keywords from the entire job description, for Each Job you apply for via online portals’.

-Although some older systems can only read selected formats, most new systems can read and prefer, .docx and PDF. How can you tell what to submit? The system will tell you .

-Do not put important contact information in the document header or footer .

ATS CVs are usually not beautiful to human eyes but beautiful to the machines,we often advice our clients to have both an ATS CV and a Standard CV.

When you are asked to upload your CV,the ATS CV can fly here, when you are invited for an interview, your standard CV can fly here.

Finally, keep in mind that the best way to get more success in your job Search is to build your network while taking advantage of the referral system;Linkedln and Facebook will give you the platform to network online.

If You’re Not on LinkedIn, You Very Nearly Don’t Exist

Considering that more than 90% of recruiters use LinkedIn as their primary search tool, this is not an understatement. If you’re a professional, you need to not only be on LinkedIn, you need to be using it to your full advantage. Don’t believe me? Think about it this way: If tomorrow morning, a recruiter logs onto LinkedIn looking for someone in your geography, with expertise in what you do, and you’re not there? Guess who they’re going to find and contact? Yes, that person’s name is “not you.”

There are a variety of reasons recruiters and hiring managers adopt technology in screening out candidates. With an ATS in place, human resources departments can automate and store hiring documents online so HR professionals never have to worry about sifting through stacks of paperwork or hundreds of emails to find what they need.

It is possible to be very qualified for a particular role and yet don't get an interview invite after submitting your CV because your CV is not ATS compliant.

If your major means of applying for abroad jobs/multinational jobs is via CV upload on a portal, then you need an ATS compliant CV.
A client who is a Network Engineer shared his story of how he was not getting job invites despite meeting most criteria and uploading his CV on different job portals (He was targeting Foreign companies). I drafted an ATS compliant CV for him and to his amazement, interview calls/emails started coming and is still coming. I also adviced him to draft a Standard CV which will complement his ATS compliant CV .

Networking is something you have to do in order to move forward in your career. You don’t actually need a huge network; you just need the right network. So who should you have in your network and how can you attract them?

As a Job Seeker, one of the platforms you should be active on is Linkedln. Connect with decision makers,Talent Hunt Executives and Recruiting Managers.

Also, connect with professionals in your field and also join Linkedln groups . Ensure you are very active in the groups(asking relevant questions and contributing value there).

Send a note to some of the Senior Professionals requesting to be their protegee and it won't take long for someone to pick special interest in you.

Here's how to get your CV right, in (about) 20 seconds!
1. Keep the layout simple.
2. Check it carefully for typos.
3. Write more about your achievements than your responsibilities. 4. Keep it to two sides.
4. Don't list hobbies unless they show relevant skills/qualities/knowledge.
5. Don't include a photo.
6. Account for periods out of work.
7. Make sure it matches your LinkedIn profile. .

How to successfully search for a job: Part 1

1)Figure out your skills:
You need to be honest with yourself about what you know and what you can do. Knowing what skills you have and lining them up with your interests can help you figure out what jobs could be a good fit.

2)Find out about jobs
Check out the entry requirements so you know what skills to develop and the skills the recruiter wants.

3)Prepare your CV
Prepare your CV and cover letter so they match the jobs you’re applying for and list only relevant, recent job experience. Employers want to see your transferable skills, the skills that are useful in many jobs and workplaces, so make sure you can identify them.
(Feel free to contact Intelligentdude for your Professional CV and Cover Letter on : 08134657689)

4)Clean up your online presence
Social media is a vital part of the job search process. If you make it to the interview stage most employers will have looked you up online. Before you start your job search make sure your digital footprint – all of the places you can be found online – is squeaky clean.

5)Approach employers for an informal interview
Many jobs aren’t advertised, so speaking to an employer in person is a great way to get yourself known and to learn about job opportunities before they’re advertised.

If you're interested in a particular role at an organisation you could research them online and ask for an informal interview. During the interview you can find out what they look for in potential employees and what skills you need to get the job. You can also find out whether the job or organisation is the right place for you.

If you can't get an informal interview you could send your CV with a cover letter explaining what roles you're interested in and how you’re qualified to do them.

6)Be ready for interviews
Do your research on potential employers and spend some time practising answering interview questions.
Think of the questions you might be asked. Have a trusted friend or family member roleplay an interview with you. Roleplaying your answers is helpful as it makes you be clear and to the point.

Job Tips

Clean up your social media habits
According to a recent Jobvite Recruiter Nation study, "social sleuthing" has become a standard recruiting practice. When recruiters go digging on social media, will their findings help or hurt your chances of landing the job? Make sure your online presence isn't sabotaging your job search by auditing your online brand to see if your social media profiles are unintentionally raising red flags for employers.

If you have any personal social media accounts you don't want employers to associate with your candidacy, now's the time to increase the security settings and change the usernames to a nickname so you're confident your private accounts are well-hidden from recruiters. Also, set up a professional LinkedIn profile to advertise your candidacy to employers.

Some people think their CV is an opportunity to show their design skills with plenty colors. Please keep it simple. Layout is important but Content is more important. Faint grey fonts are a turn off.
If you have been applying to job openings yet you only get invites from GNLD, it’s hightime you gave your CV to a Professional to take a look at it.

When formatting your CV, it’s best to keep it simple.

A good number of people are tempted to use flashy designs, images and bright colours in a bid to stand out from the crowd. But in reality, these things often provide a bad reading experience and distract recruiters from the all-important content.

If you want to create a CV that looks professional and allows readers to find the information they need quickly, then you should take a look at our sample template.

We also write ATS compliant CVs/Cover Letters and build Linkedln profiles. Call/Chat with Intelligentdude: 08134657689

Steps to Approaching Recruiters via LinkedIn:

1) Use the main search bar to type your field + ‘recruiter’, relevant region, followed by the ‘in People’ option. Eg, IT Recruiter.

2) Send a PERSONALIZED connection request, short, polite and to the point. NOT ‘Hey,I need a job’.

3)Once the connection request is accepted , send a cover direct message no longer than 250 words and attach resume.

If you are a Job Seeker looking to be picked up by recruiters, a Corporate looking to sell your brand, or an individual with a message to share, you need to…..

ENGAGE!

How?

1. Put a like on a post of interest.
2. Comment insightfully in at least a full sentence.
3. Put a like on your own comment (We know you aren’t vain and the algorithm doesn’t care even if you are!)
4. Put likes on other meaningful comments.
5. Reply to insightful commentary and connect/follow others.

If you do this consistently you will average an increase in profile views of approx. 1000-2000% within 48 hours, if not more.

The more you engage on LinkedIn the more the algorithm will raise your profile in terms of searches.

Job Seekers if you don’t occasionally apply for jobs on LinkedIn Jobs, you will most likely be suppressed by the algorithm in recruiter searches.

Question: Do you have a well optimized Linkedln Profile and CV? If your answer is No, call/chat intelligentdude on : 08134657689
