Guys, thank you all for your efforts. It has been an enlightening read. I have three questions: 1. First with the trivial: What is the "AM" or "Angel Merkel" everyone keep referring to. I haven't figured what they mean by that. 2. I have a 2:1 in Economics (Bachelors), an MSc in Information Technology from the UK. I want to apply for courses in the computer and natural science in Germany. The schools I have checked (TUM, Ulm, RWTHAachen) seem to place great emphasis on your bachelors to be related to the proposed MSc. I assume that corner cases like mine should have a shot at being admitted. Anyone with experience on such a case? Or advice? 3. My third question is related to the second. I applied for the Informatics course at TUM. One of the documents I am supposed to submit is a curriculum analysis (attached). I have no idea how to convert credit load for my BSc courses to ECTS. I have scoured the internet. Anyone with information on how to do this? Thanks for your attention.

Legacy666:University of Trier is a good school but after applying, you have to pay an application fee of 50€ before they process your application. |

DemigodZeus147:I don't really know if all programs have same procedure but I'm going for History and Economics(MA) and the direction is to attach all document in a single pdf file and email to eh@uni-bayreuth.de. And they have a rolling academic application..... Meaning you can apply any time you want for winter. I'm just waiting for my transcript now. I have exchange lot of mails with the school and nice enough they accept proficiency letter from your first degree institution. |

Bamstar007:like I said in the post before this, I was referring to History and Economics, they could have different method of application for different courses.

odogwudozilla: 1. AM is an approval mail sent by the embassy when your visa is approved requesting you to submit your travel insurance 2. I think your skills and a strong motivation later can scale you through 3. Check last parts for part 5 or the beginning of this part for the conversion Bless up 1 Like |

Hi I know my case is different.. someone just help me out like that please My question is what easy course can someone study offer there, (by easy course, I mean a course that's very easy to undertake .. Just like library science in Nigeria, I hope someone gets what I mean) 2nd. What's school offers an almost automatic admission process NB I'm not really interested in working while shooling also.. Getting out of the country is the issue and honestly, I'm really not very interested in the degree, just want to get out of this country and can't find any faster means than student visa that's why I'm opting for it |

Kenechill: Berliner1 : 9:30am On Nov 23 , 2018 SooCute : B2 should take you less than a year. But if you mingle and force yourself to speak (your cut and join German) you would eventually start making sense sooner. Also depends on how much time you wanna put-in. I would advice you to start learning German from Nigeria. Throw yourself to it. Just like @hounorableseyi hinted, If yo come here bro/Sis you go ration your time ooo. Alot of wahala if you are doing Bachelors in Engineering( or STEM). Time no go too dey plus course work, hustle go tie you down. If you want soft small....avoid education in BAVARIA...i wouldn't say more than this.. Just laughing here about bavaria...where at the TUM fanatics? Only one state with dramatic auslanderbehorde(foriegners office) and weirdo Uni... My advice, learn basics German upto A2...look for mini job and face your studies 100%....look for internship or work student....dont com here for courses that are not marketable....during summer...work full time to save...prepare for life after studies....linkedin...xing etc. Employers dont employ based on university ranking here....this is not UK or USA...dont come here for MBA as well...if one school is difficult transfer your credit to another uni. Kenechill: like I earlier said from the reports we are getting. It's not like other places are not tough, but it seems to be more with Bavaria Here is an excerpt from a veteran, I have to shorten it. Now it happened that many folks didn't have a clue. I asked the professor, "Are we gonna be expecting this kinda thing in Exam?" She answered "You know, i didn't make the rules. It is typical for the Bavarian region. Our exams are usually not multi-choice. Normally, Education in Bavaria is tougher than every other part of Germany...so when you pass with a Bavarian certificate, ......." Well, i am saying this because many people here wanted to travel out of Nigeria for many reasons. For me, if German certificate is German certificate....why should i come and kill myself by myself? Honestly, don't be discouraged. But also don't say "I wish i was told earlier". I have come of age to know what fits me per time. No be paper we dey find come here las las? What shall it profit your village people that you came here and graduate in 10years? Ogbeni are you a baby? 6 Likes 1 Share |

Randy91: You need just your 100L first and second semester transcripts, but if you have your full transcripts, you can still use it. Me I'm using just my 100L transcripts. |

bl33d: Racism we learnt is more around eastern germany regions with exception to Berlin being the capital of Germany, the Germans are quite conservative but very nice and straight forward. More shocking you might get rude expressions with beefs from your fellow African brothers from cameroun, Kenya and possibly Ghana etc. But in all, you will definitely survive. 2 Likes 1 Share |
