Imo Polls Likely To End In A Runoff by garfield1: 1:45pm On Mar 11, 2019 |
For the first time in Nigeria,a governorship polls will end in a runoff as the top two contestants are likely to fall short of the constitutional requirement of getting 25% of votes in two third of all the local governments in a state.imo state has 27 lgas, two third is 18 lgas.with results from 15 lgas announced so far,the AA candidate has met that requirement in 9 lgas falling short in 6 lgas.in the list of lgas not yet announced,he wont make it in ezinihitte, ahiazu, owners north and owerri west. The pdp candidate out of the 15 announced areas has met the requirement in 6 lgas falling short in 9.he will also fail in ideato south, njaba.as the remaining lgas are being announced, ill post it here. |

Edodefender: He is talking about the 2nd requirement, before declaring someone winner. The person must have 25% of the votes in 2/3 local governments in the state, Which is 18 LGAs in Imo state. NB I dont know the voting figures over there, just clarifying the position of the law. |

seunmsg:well rules are rules but I see it as a waste of resources because the margins are too much hence even if a rerun holds,it will still be the same results or small different.. Let's watch and see shaa. |

Edodefender: APC won Ondo state House of assembly on Saturday. So count out Ondo from your stupid mouth. Ondo state votes was divided between AA and APC parties, that was why PDP managed to have won during the presidential election. 2 Likes |
