Air Peace Issues A Statement On Boeing 737 Max 8 Order. by naptu2: 3:12pm On Mar 12, 2019
Nigeria's Air Peace placed an order for 10 new Boeing 737 Max 8 aircrafts in October 2018.

However, due to the recent crash of a Lion Air plane and an Ethiopian Airways plane, some Nigerians have called for a boycot of Air Peace because the two crahses involved Boeing 737 Max 8 aircrafts.

Air Peace has now clarified that it is yet to take delivery of the aircraft that it ordered because they are still being manufactured in the United States.

Read their statement below.

They should go ahead with the order. People just don't have sense, the aircrafts they ordered are brand new, not old models.

See Nigerians!

A particular leader failed Nigeria once during his military misadministration and you people still voted for him as a democratic president...he failed again and you people still gave him second tenure...

Two isolated air incidents and the same people are condemning Air Peace!

Good statement.

We also know that some percentages of the deposited money would be lost in the event that the order is cancelled and we know how shrewd our banks are.

True, it is premature to take decisions on the Boeing since investigations have barely started to ascertain the complicity of the model in the crash.

Our hearts are with the bereaved. (A very important part the Statement missed out)

The aircrafts that crashed were new too and had only been in commercial use since 2017

it's old, Boeing don't produce it again,
they will just do re touching of old one and sell to a smaller airline.

no Nigeria airline can afford 10 brand new Boeing passenger aircraft

new products with manufacturer defect are worse than old products that has been tested over years.

I'm quite sure you and I don't know better than those who would certify it's worthiness before releasing it for use this time around. Don't you think?
