I wanted to like this movie, i mean i actually loved the first 30 minutes on how adoption works in the developed world. But then they started this hogwash and over the top palaver, and i just lost interest.

One of my least favourite Marvel movies of all time. Average movie.

The fun parts of the movie were few. The villain was not even a serious villain. The action scenes were just okay. There was no epic fight scene.


This was just an appetizer for Avengers Endgame.

Imagine if, in the last chapter of the last Harry Potter book, some new über-wizard whom no one had ever mentioned or heard of before swooped in from the skies, blasted Voldemort in the face, interrupted Snapes dying speech, made out with Hermione and became the hero of the story, totally eclipsing all the other characters. That’s what people are afraid is about to happen with Captain Marvel.

Uncharacteristically for the MCU, they’ve done a very poor job of setting up Captain Marvel.

See, the MCU’s popularity is not based on the explosions, or the funny jokes, or the great writing or the good looking actors (ok, maybe it's a little about the good looking actors) it is all about investment.

When we go into an Avengers movie, it’s to get the narrative pay-off of seeing characters whom we’ve been watching grow, suffer, learn, fight, die, bond, love and laugh for more than a decade now - the MCU as a whole is far more than the sum of its parts.

So when we hear that Captain Marvel is, like, the best hero ever you guys and she’s gonna be stronger than Hulk, more powerful than Thor, smarter than Stark, faster than Widow, a better leader than Cap and is probably going to be the one to take Thanos down, the default reaction is a hugely negative one.

It’s the Marvel equivalent of when Superman showed up at the end of Justice League and made everyone else in the movie redundant

Disney has one main purpose, making money above anything else. Her message in all of that is annoying (and confusing). Didn't you get annoyed about the Black Panther (who only got appraisal due to an almost black cast ~ even though the movie sucked) got so much attention? Every mediocre actor or actress has a political agenda nowadays.

We pay the cinema to see our actors and actresses on screen. Not for their political bullshit.

We vote for politicians to do what we want them to do. They won't, but that's another story.

Actors nowadays act more like politicians … while politicians act more than actors. We live in an odd world. This entire “we need more black people, or more females, or more purple Muslims, or more handicapped Christians in important places” is getting out of hand. It's up side down racism. We should get the best actor, best politicians or best employee for that particular role.

Before you know it it's 2026 and the world consists of 64 different genders and giving your opinions will be illegal, the penalty being talked to a bunch of hyped up feminists.
