A group known as the Committee of Elders of Kano has just been formed to meet and find a resolution to the impasse which ensued after last Saturday’s gubernatorial election in Kano state.

It would be recalled that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared the Kano governorship election inconclusive with the results so far released showing that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate, Abba Kabir-Yusuf, leading the incumbent governor and candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

The Committee, under the chairmanship of Alhaji Aminu Dantata, also has members like Africa’s richest man and industrialist Aliko Dangote, Bashir Tofa, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, Halliru Akilu.

Members of the Committee are currently at the airport to receive Aliko Dangote and the venue of the meeting is the palace of the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammad Sanusi II.

It is rumoured that the Committee will, during their meeting, put a call through to President Muhammadu Buhari, to tell him they will never allow Kano to be destroyed because of Governor Ganduje’s ambition.

Abba Yusuf has also been invited to the meeting.

So after keeping mute through all the inconclusive elections in the country they now fear for what will happen in kano state. They should allow Ganduje turn Kano into Sambisa

The "rumour" about not allowing Ganduje to destroy kano is obviously false. The good thing about Kano people, though, is that they are the most politically sophisticated electorate in Nigeria. Nine or so FM stations, with 2 airing only political programs, serve kano city. With radio as an indispensable companion of an average hausa man, it is easy to discern why there is very high political awareness and voter turnout in kano (and North generally). A voter may vote Buhari, pdp in senatorial, Apc in reps and pdp in governorship elections - that's how they vote over there, and no violence unless somebody tries to do mago- mago.

One of the many wonders of INEC and APC in Kaduna State:

Accredited Voters: 1,428,895
APC: 1,044,710
PDP: 815,168

Total - 1,858,875.

Now, from the above, void votes are not recorded, the votes of the minor parties are not recorded yet, INEC has a super rising figure above the accredited votes after the end of the election.

Buharig only came to steal, to kill and to destroy.

Nothing is more corrupt than rigging of elections and no man is more corrupt than being a rigger. Buharig is too corrupt.
Nigeria is in a sorry State.
