Photos: See the deplorable state of the school attended by the girl chased home for not paying school fees

Yesterday, the video of a little girl named Success went viral as she protested after her school teachers sent her home because her parents had failed to pay her school fees.

Although the last administration of Dr. Emmanuel Ewetan Uduaghan remodelled some of the state school (both primary and secondary), alot still need to be done. The current governor pride himself in road construction very poor quality of work) and has paid little attention to this important section of governance. I weep for my state.

My brothers from the SS & SE, keep concentrating on Lagos. Keep focusing & referring to another man's ancestral and indigenous land as no man's land. Keep attacking Tinubu every day when your own house is already on fire. Dilapidated state of Education in Delta State, one of the highest receiver of Federal allocation in Nigeria....

Dis girl is an angel, a redeemer, a restorer.

May our helper locate us in any which way. Amen!!!!!

God Bless u madam wey video her put for net. smiley

She is the Nehemiah of our time
Her fearless courage is epic.
Willing to be flog until the cane tire knowing her parent could not afford the school fees.

By her action the beamlight is now on school mismanaged by political fore

I also observe the narrative is switching from election to this little Amazon.
The politicians are all quite since the focus is on mismanagement rather than getting votes.
My daughter did her common entrance in a school in Lagos..... Let me stop there as memory flash back to a certain school in Ita faji .

I am sure the innocent school students will have been saved if there was beamlight on them before the tragedy.

Success. As your name is you will charger new territories. Your mate shall stand up to call you bless.

As long as the governors single handedly select local government caretaker committee chairman, no real development can take place.

The problem is government runs too many schools, and the education budget cannot adequately cater for all of them.

Time some schools went public private.

Thats not true. Funds meant 4 schools are stolen that's y d schools aren't adequately catered for and not because govt runs too many schools

This school needs all the help it can get from the State Government because it looks like one, but for the meantime, shame to all politicians in Delta State if this is a government primary school in oil rich Delta State.

This school should be handed over to an NGO immediately.

Everyone is using this innocent girl to make money from internet traffic to blog sites and paid ads on YouTube videos and I think it's wrong. Everyone benefiting from this girl's plight should donate all profit to her and her parents. I don't know what it is about warri people that always make them act like they have fire in their head even at an early age. 80% of primary schools in Nigeria look like this, just come and see the deplorable state of the schools in my neck of the woods, Mushin, you will leave in tears. Pop quiz, do you know the name of the first Nigerian player to score in the 1994 Worldcup? Hint R.Y.

Bros this ur angle make sense. But no worry, d bloggers will prefer to give d money 2 their church "daddies" & "mummies" that have their children abroad

Just my thought. It is because the Local Governments are no longer functional. Otherwise Primary Education is under the Local government's jurisdiction.

It is a private school, yoruba man. One of those very cheap substandard private primary schools everywhere, even in lagos.

Even if the politicians stopped stealing, a state like Delta would need at least one trillion naira to make the schools there standard.

The stealing in.Nigeria is bad, what's painful is that the thieves are stealing from a very poor treasury

U call Nigeria's treasury poor. Its so poor that it is being robbed everyday, yet it hasn't run dry. D robbing of this "poor treasury" has been going on 4 at least 3 decades& there's no end in sight yet d "poor treasury" hasn't run dry

Land of Thieves is apt angry
Offpoint:
All I see are kids with bright futures
I see lawyers, Professor, doctors, engineers, presidents, governors, innovators, pastors, nurses, business tycoons....
I see a promising future,
Their presence is a part of their future success story,
I see them making something of nothing,
Sometimes you don't let you environment defines you,
Sometimes it's good you see postivities in negativities.
We are Nigerians, we were born survivors.
If our government abandon and forsakes us, our natural instincts of survival will not abandon us,
When life gives us lemons, we make lemonade out of it.

God bless Nigeria,

Schools in Delta and even a number of states are in a deplorable state. Politicians misuse money buy inflating contract sums in order to line their pockets. Thus using too much to do too little. It's a shame! Delta ought to be the pride of the nation, by virtue of developmental strides made. This maladministration started in the late 90's and has not really abated. When are we going to have public servants with a burden to serve and make the state /nation a better place where everything works. When the wicked are in power, the people mourn. A thief /419 will always remain so. We need men with the fear of God.

True but know that if the Governor does not give money to the local government-councillors- nothing happens. And that is the case all over the country where you'll hundreds of schools like this in the state capitals not the villages. Local government autonomy is what can solve situations like this.

That is why state governors need good Senators and Love government chairmanships to perform well. Delta state governor is really trying, but the LG chairman's might just be collecting money to renovate the schools, and will end up doing nothing at the end

That is why a good system of government must have a monitoring and evaluation unit. Many if not all- governors do not release money to LGAs to carry out projects. They want to control things from the centre.
