lonelydora: Why would rivers burn if Awara wins the governorship elections? Doesn't he have a right to contest election as rivers citizen? You are saying he didn't campaign, but his poster are seen around his constituency, so the fact that you didn't see them or that he didn't have stolen government funds to campaign widely doesn't mean he didn't campaign. I know the reason you are angry and its because ameachi is backing him with all federal might he could muster. In as much as I don't support ameachi over what he is doing, every politician in Nigeria have those who back them for victory, Atiku had the elites backing him to emerge the president elect, Buhari had those backing him to win, some calles them cabal.....wike also had GeJ backing him too, and the state funds at his disposal. If you have any issue Ameachi, direct your grievances to him and leave awara alone. It is not his fault that Ameachi decided to back him. Let the riverine people have a taste of power too, ikwere had been occupying that seat for too long. If Awara is declared winner and you decided to burn Rivers State, your people would burn along with it, so be wise. 4 Likes |

lonelydora: I don't like tribalism but I just couldn't help but include the bolded. Ameachi and Wike are the main actors in this age long crisis going on in Rivers State. And they are from the same tribe Ikwere. They are not the only tribe with competent hands, let's try others. Ameachi had no choice than to endorse another candidate from a different party because of the division in APC rivers as regards who should fly the party flag so the Rivers PDP are angry at Awara, calling him names, some have even threatening to kill him. 2 Likes 1 Share |

shugabasbn: My friend I'm having reasons to believe basic comprehension is a problem to you, of all the news and videos making the grounds in the social media this shi.t is what you have to come up with, are you so daft that you can't read between the line that the violence is Rivers state is not between the youths but the military agenda orchestrated by Amaechi to subvert the collective will of the Rivers people. Rivers people have spoken through the ballot and no modafvcker can intimidate or suppress the people's will. |

AmazingELixir: and at what time in history since 1999 has rivers people spoken through the ballot, it has always been bloody and the candidate with the deadliest thugs have always won. so don't come and be preaching epistles of credible polls just because it is not favouring your candidate 2 Likes |

Lovemaester: Yes you are partially right when you stated that elections since 1999 had not been credible but then it reflects to a greater extent the desire of the voting class however crooked, it is also pertinent to note that this practice of deployment of thugs , violence and other election infractions are not limited to Rivers state alone it cuts across the length and breadth of the country. What I find rather nauseating is the use of institution of state like the army that should be apolitical and representing the intetest of all to subvert the people's will through forceful seizure and manipulation of the process which even INEC the umpire had highlighted in their recent report on the disruption of the collation. |
