The truth is, except there is a new law that changes the burden of proof, it's difficult for any election to be overturned in Nigeria for now. I think PDP never saw the future with the way they handle Salami's case about Osun and Sokoto.
Since SC upheld the 2015 election in Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Delta and Kano (not sure Kano was challenged at the tribunal), it becomes an almost impossible task successfully challenging any election declared by Inec to be won by a party.

Waste of time. Tough call to have a legal team that’ll call 400 witnesses within the time available under the EA and make meaning out of doing so. Atiku is really just looking to stay in the news for as long as he can before the next cycle of elections in 2023. That’s the game he’s playing!

Leave the matter after all, only one person's statement led to the withholding of Okorochas' certificate of return and, one person led to the uturn in bauchi. Witnesses are rated.

according to SC, yes, rigging must be case specific and not general, that is, even if you have evidence of rigging in 50000PU, the voting population of those PU must be enough to alter the result, and the rigging evidence can't be used to assume there was rigging in other PU where you do not have evidence.
The question now is, is 400-500PU enough to alter the result for the winner not to stand as one?

You are correct.the only way out was if the constitution was amended or buhari had signed the electoral act.only the appeal courts were the ones that had the courage and flexibility to nullify elections because they were not so strict and rigid with the laws,they were mostly made up of modern thinkers.but the supreme court is very rigid,they have clearly set a precedent.intelligent people like you should comment more here

But inorder to stand a chance,you must bring evidence from half of all the units.the supreme court defined substantial non compliance to be at least half or if not more of most polling units.you cant ask the court to cancel a nationwide election based on less than 1000 units.400 units is even less than what a state has

I am sure that those 400 witnesses will likely be from borno,yobe,nasarawa,kano,fct,zamfara.these are the areas pdp complained most.if we cancel results from those states,it will not alter the final results

I was laughing then when some were rejoicing over SC decision in those cases, their saving grace today is that Bubu is not a hardcore politician, he would have used hook or crook to win almost all states for gubernatorial election, and at the end, the election will stand. Maybe SC will start thinking their decision through before making pronouncement henceforth.
I missed Nikki Tobi, Kayode Esho, Oputa and the likes. Those are the real justices, not the ones we have now.
