gidgiddy: Lmao. Let me ask you first, was it not the Ibos who killed every regional leaders except theirs? It often puzzles me how you treat others with wickedness yet expect love in return. Lol Secondly, is it by force to stay on people's land? The North said they didn't want Ibos in their region and the next thing to do for a sensible person is to go back to his region but no, you were dragging their lands with them and they gave you hot. Na your greediness kill your ancestors and still killing you today. You talked about the death of fajuyi and that Awolowo should have avenged him? For wetin? Who's Fajuyi? Was him not the one who died with his best friend, Ironsi who was a known enemy of Awolowo? Have you forgotten the several letters Awolowo wrote to Ironsi to release him but Ironsi refused to release Awolowo until Gowon came into power and released Awolowo. So what's his business about Ironsi's friend being a collateral in the war? Did he send Fajuyi? If you claimed Awolowo should have avenged Fajuyi based on the fact that he's a Yoruba, then Awolowo should also avenge the likes of Ademolegun and his pregnant wife, Sodeinde and Akintola who were all killed by the Ibos! Can you see how foolish you sound? OSU and stupidity, very synonymous. Awolowo has no business in any stupid Ibo war in the first place. His loyalty was to Gowon who released him but despite this, he had wanted to be neutral and told Gowon so. Gowon even said they had to go through his wife to beg him several times but he refused to join the north and remained neutral until your accursed ancestors brought their stupid war to the Midwest and Ore, that was what broke the camel back for Awolowo, especially for someone who knew the antics of Azikiwe's dominating ways and how he had conspired and jailed him, Awolowo as the wise man he was known to be was simply waiting to see if the Ibos were fighting this war just to dominate Nigeria or fighting to liberate themselves. Awolowo would have thought that there was nothing wrong in the Hausa telling the Ibos to go back home and there shouldn't have been any grievances stemming as a result. Hence he had to wait to see what exactly Ibos were fighting for (that is, were they really fighting for the freedom to secede from Nigeria like he had always wanted for the Yorubas or they had wanted to dominate Nigeria like Azikiwe and Ojukwu had always opined?) He had to wait out and see eventhough he had already acknowledged the fact that he had just returned from the prison and wasn't prepared to suddenly lead his people into battlefield especially in a war which doesn't concern the Yoruba In the first place, there could have been ways Awolowo could have used his wisdom to help out but he was waiting but in the end, Ibo ancestors failed the test. They not only invaded the Midwest and Ore but also attacked them and imposed an Ibo premier on the Midwest. So why should he trust the Ibos? That's why I always say trust Ibos at your own peril. It's even stupid of you to have expected Yoruba BV to join in your stupid battles which you all brought upon yourself. Ibos were the darling of the Hausa and the fulanis. Your accursed ancestors were all enjoying while mocking the Yorubas who were marginalised but when the relationship turned sour, you wanted the Yorubas to fight your battles? You are very stupid and mad! If we don't avenge our leaders that were killed by you lots, call us a bastard. Yeye dey smell. 4 Likes 1 Share |

StOla:bro..i wont lie to u...ojukwu made a mistake at the begining and it was hard to correct later in the war... But let me ask u...do u think things would have turned out better for the east and west if ojukwu and awolowo teamed up in that fight? Remember that no matter hw u hate the igbos....igbos didnt come together and decide to do a coup. Infact the igbos who were involved in that coul were mostly living in north and lagos at the time. And remember that wat started the war is wat is currently happening in middle belt whr hausa-fulani are killing people while the president is acting like the situation was out of his control. Take a few minutes and imagine where we would all be nw if ojukwu and awolowo decided to declare south nigeria republic. I dont blame ojukwu for seceding...he was not zik who was for one nigeria...but i blame awolowo for not seceding as well. The reason is because had awolowo seceded...the north would not have won. They would just be another west african poor country struggling to enter into south nigeria |

meccuno: Lmao. It's either you're a political neophyte and you are just choosing to be dishonest. Was it not the Ibos who had formed alliance with the north to conspire agianst Awolowo? So what exactly are you saying? Besides, Awolowo and Yoruba weren't scavenging in the North nor adamant to have want to drag the Northerners land with them unlike the Ibos, so what nonsense are you saying? Awolowo and the Yorubas had never overstepped their boundary. They respected the North and gave them their boundary. All what Awolowo had wanted was to govern the affairs of the Yoruba and nothing else but Azikiwe was envious of him and the Yorubas at large. Azikiwe and other Ibo leaders went ahead to conspire against Awolowo and landed him in prison. Even Akintola was even calling out Awolowo for being a dunce because Awolowo would rather want to be left alone than to allign with the North which Akintola wasn't in support of, because he had seen how Yorubas had been sidelined whereas the Ibos who had alligned with the Northerners were feeding fat and getting into many political posts and all. If your stupid ancestors hadn't alligned with the North, Awolowo wouldn't have been jailed. Same thing happened with Abiola whom Ibos rejected in favour of Tofa and Abacha. So shut your stupid trash. I repeat it's very stupid to drag people's land with them. If they don't want you, then bring your ass back home. It's not by force. It's only when they also come into your own region to attack you that you should scream blue murder. Yeye dey smell. 2 Likes |

KGD10: You wrote all this just come back and agree with what I said: While others like Ojukwu were fighting to liberate and free their people from Northern Nigerian domination, Awolowo was hiding under Gowons skirt fighting to help his Northern masters to enslave everybody including his own Yoruba people. Bede2u: Lmao. There was no love lost between Abiola and Abacha. Abacha had said he was going to hand over to whoever wins the election but reneged on his promise. There weren't even laughing hence it should tell you they only had a diplomatic meeting. What nonsense exactly are you saying? Are Ibos not the one forming alliance with the North right from the 60's? Azikiwe did. Ekueme did with Shagari. Ibos all had a million man march in solidarity with Abacha just to spite the Yorubas. You all supported Tofa against Abiola. So what rubbish are you saying? So what's is good for the goose isn't good for the gander? Some people are roaming. 3 Likes 1 Share |

gidgiddy: Nope. While Ibos were fighting the war as a result of the greediness and wickedness they brought upon themselves and getting killed in millions, Yorubas who had been sidelined and had bore the brunt of Ibos' wickedness were sipping their tea and looking on until Ibos brought their accursed battle to our region and we treated their fvck up. Keep gnashing your teeth. You go dey alright las last. 2 Likes |

Bede2u:whether he made a mistake or not is really not the issue. he took a decision and thats what leaders do. at that time it was the best to avoid more blood shed. you can imagine how many people were killed even before the war started. as a leader how would you have felt?? The annoying things is that he actually dialogued for peace but we all saw how that went. no what annoys me is when people come and put the blame of Nigerias woes on the Igbos. going by the body language of the North and their relationship with the british, how long would it take before there was serious crises?? The British created this belief in them that they own Nigeria and manipulated the size of the North and created a fake census with an over bloated population size for them. that was in the 50s. The war was just the avenue for the North to completely break the powers of the Igbos in the western Region with the help of the British who was protecting its interest. nothing more. we are right now heading in the same direction. until our future is decided by us. and i mean every ethnic group must agree to be a Nigeria or choose a separate path we are just postponing the dooms day.if they like let the Igbos be their problem while the Hausa fulani goes ahead with their secret plan of domination a continuation of what their fore fathers had in mind. 1 Like |

Bede2u: Liar. Ojukwu was never in support of secession until the reprisal attack on the Ibos in the North. In fact, it was documented that few minutes after ironsi had signed the unitary decree, Ojukwu had opined for the Ibos to go to the northern region to take over the Jobs because the Northerners were less educated than the Ibos. What the hell? I mean how could Ibo have perpetrated such wickedness on another person land? This wickedness was equivalent to how Azikiwe appointed 302 Ibos out of the 305 staffs appointed at the university of Ibadan, a SW University! Only 2 Yorubas was appointed. Just look at the wickedness! It's even foolish of Ibos to have expected the Yorubas they maligned to help them in their secession. Thunder fire your ass. The Northerners warned against what Ojukwu and ironsi who were perpetrating nonsense in the North through the stupid unitary decree but they refused to heed to the warning, apart from the fact that Ibos were mocking the Northerners over the death of their leaders who were killed by the Ibos. The Ibos had made plenty of posters which had the pictures of Ifeajuna and Ironsi standing over the lifeless bodies of Ahmadu and Tafawa Balewa. Not only this, the coup plotters weren't even sent to a northern nor Western prison like it should have been but were given a pat on the back and allowed to stay back in the eastern region while ironsi kept on lying that they were in prison which was untrue. Not just this but also, the perpetrators of the coup weren't brought under trial by Ironsi because death was the penalty for killing political leaders but Ironsi refused to bring them under trial. When the Northerners couldn't take the wickedness of the Ibos, they plotted their own counter coup and killed Ironsi with all his friends. Afterwards, they attacked the Ibos living amidst them and asked them to go back to their region. Don't forget these Ibos had taken over their jobs after the stupid unitary decree by Ironsi enabled by Ojukwu. Hence, Ibo should be the one to look inward and see the atrocities they have caused others. Only then you will heal. I really don't know what is bad or difficult in going back to your region if you ain't wanted in another region. It's not by force to stay in another person's region and be dragging their region with them. That's greediness. I don't even think you have learned anything from the war because you are still back to your behaviour of dragging region which ain't yours. Na curse? 2 Likes |

Anyway, what's bad in going back to one's region if you ain't wanted in another region? Should that have caused any grievances from the Ibos? Probably why Awolowo was waiting to see what Ibos was exactly fighting for. The benevolent Awolowo even tried for the Ibos and helped to prevent the total wipe out of the Ibos despite all the atrocities Ibo leaders meted on him. No wonder Ojukwu had respect for him after the war because he knew he wouldn't have acted kind if he was in Awolowo's shoes. 2 Likes |

meccuno: That post wasn't a reply to you. Besides, I had my reason for saying thunder should fire his ass. Ibos had joined the northern to malign the western for years only for him to put the blame on Awolowo for not joining in their accursed fight after things went sour between the Northerners and the Ibos. Can you imagine the shit? Why should Yoruba join their enemies to fight the war they brought upon themselves? Despite all this, Awolowo was still compassionate to have acted neutral until they attacked the Midwest and Ore. What exactly was Ojukwu fighting for? Was it for secession or domination like he had always opined before the time their relationship with the north turned sour? I think that would make any sensible Yoruba leader to think twice and defend his region first before lending help to a mischievous enemy as the Ibos, which was what Awolowo did. Despite all Ibos atrocities, it was still Awolowo that prevented the total wipe out of the Ibos. Yet one dunce was asking why Awolowo didn't join the Ibos in their suicide mission which they brought upon themselves in the first place. Abeg go and sit down. 2 Likes |

Kagd10: So while Igbo were fighting for their freedom and independence, which is the most honorable thing anyone can fight for, Yorubas were slipping tea as the North turned them into slaves To this day, Yorubas are still begging the North for restructuring. You Yoruba are begging the North to allow you control the resources of your own land inside Nigeria That's the difference between an Igbo man and a Yoruba man An Igbo man like Ojukwu will not go down without a fight A Yoruba man like Awolowo will not only go down long before the fight, he will even be proud of that act of cowardice Yorubas are the only people I know who celebrate their slavery to the North just like Awolowo did. 1 Like |

gidgiddy: An average igbo man like you is always bitter. What do you know by slavery? You suddenly became a slave because a northerner is a president. Where you a slave when Gej was president? We can never be a slave to anybody. If being in Nigeria means slavery to you, then you are a slave because it's the state of your mind. You and your children will be a sleeve because there's nothing you can do about it. Your forefathers sold you into slavery. Igbos fought for Biafra when they lost out at the center. Awolowo had no reason to go to war over what can be solved on a round table. He fought for Nigeria in which Yoruba is a great stake holder. Restructuring will be achieved when restructuring advocates push for it. Just like you are begging for Biafra without taking the necessary steps. Those clamouring for restructuring have never moved a motion towards it. |
