Congratulations. Personally I think you should choose UNT. Denton is a northern suburb of Dallas. Dallas is one of the emerging tech hubs with real good paying jobs and openings.

I’m having issues with WES evaluation.

It’s in regards to to Olevel result.

So my WAEC result is not completed, I failed most of my courses (oops), my NECO as well. In short, I ended up sitting for NABTEB; now the problem is, NABTEB is not getting the verification process right, and WES keep rejecting the olevel result.

Can I use the poor WAEC result either ways? I mean does it have any effect on the overall evaluation of prerequisite and CGpA?

I have searched everywhere but I can’t find information on this.

Hi Javanian, Congratulations on your admit. In as much as you've been convinced by others, the truth is, PhD is not for everyone. In the same US you desire to get a PhD, don't be surprised you'd compete with candidates with BSc for same jobs (though they have other certifications). Many people dropout from the PhD program, others lose motivation to continue as they already have job offers after completing two years (and they'd be awarded a MSc). If your aim for a PhD is to get jobs, I'm sorry you have to change your mindset.

Few months ago, someone here wrote about the journey to his PhD (in Chemistry), I hope you can get the link to his story on the US student visa thread. Be sincere, where do you see yourself in 4 years? Are you ready for the rigours of research? Without having any financial issues, would you still be interested in the PhD? What if you are guaranteed to get a job after the first two years in the US, will you still select the PhD program?

Good evening all. I need you guys help. I'm preparing for GRE, but I plan applying next year April to Youngstown stàte uni Ohio.
The issue is that after my bsc which was in Finance/banking, I grew interest in another career entirely (Agriculture which I'm presently into). My question is that is there a way a can switch to a Masters program in Agriculture or should I just continue on the path of finance Accounting and Economics. And if there is a way I can also get equipped in agriculture while studying other course

Please is there anyone currently preparing for the GRE? Or anyone who can give me useful tips. I have more than one month before my exam date, I understand all the verbal and Quantitative concepts but based on my practice test scores it seems I am not improving. I review my error too. I do better in Quantitative and not in verbal and sometimes vice versa. If you have taken this test before, kindly advise. Thank you. The highest I got in Quant is 155 and verbal 151. All suggestions are welcome.

Congrats Pierre92, As you can see, you did not need to retake the GRE to secure full funding. Washington State is a good school. A lot of Uni of Washington rejects which are also MIT, Stanford etc rejects go there...lol.

As a Harvard reject , I concur. Lol. Harvard waited till March to send a nicely worded rejection letter. Now comes the eternal debate whether I am ready to spend 5 years pursuing a degree as against going for a masters.

I did not know that this meant my application was on hold and therefore was not reviewed by the department till February,as my transcripts were delayed due to strike actions in my university.

He replied that I've been granted admission and will be officially notified very soon. However, they're still searching for funding for me. No one has decided to fund me yet.

This morning, I received a mail from a prof in the dep. who I I sent mail to several months ago on the possibility of securing RA with him. The mail reads: "

Are you still looking for a place for graduate school? Have you published any papers, conference or journal articles? If so, I would be interested in reading them. If not, do you have any technical writing you could share with me? Perhaps something on the brachiopod shell research.

I have attached a paper of mine. Would you mind reading it and giving me your thoughts? I would be interested to know what questions you have after reading it. Either about our methods or future work you think it promotes.

Very positive development, I think you're being evaluated for critical thinking and ability to pose research questions. Perhaps, someone else with more research exp in also being considered. Anyway, whatever you decide to send, make sure the plagiarized content is at the barest minimum.

For the paper you will read, you might want to identify gaps and talk about possible options to test and explore those ideas you found. You should thoroughly understand the paper.
