Read the judgement not opinion. Rerun was Needless because PDP won in first ballot. The returning officer canceled results that were already declared at the polling units by Polling officers. It was illegal because he doesn't have the right.
I think there is need to educate ourselves in other not to be a danger to our environment. The electoral officer has the power to reject or accept the result of polling unit base on the report from the presiding officer. A typical example of this is Rochas Okorocha whose certificate of return was not issued based on the report of the returning officer. So, my take on Osun matter is that the majority judgement didn't refer to the electoral act while giving the judgement. For example, they also don't have power to add or subtract already declared vote. Also, from the judgement result, the PDP still don't have all the required to be declared a winner because the number of cancel votes is still higher than the difference.

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State was leading his main challenger, Abba Yusuf of the Peoples Democratic Party, in Saturday’s supplementary governorship election in the state.

The results of eight out of the 28 local government areas where the election took place showed that Ganduje of the All Progressives Congress had polled 6,473 votes while his opponent scored 970 votes as of 10pm.

In the March 9 poll declared inconclusive by the Independent National Electoral Commission, the APC polled 987, 819 votes while the PDP had 1,014, 474 votes.

While the collation of votes was ongoing, a representative of the PDP raised an objection, describing the poll process as a disservice to democracy.

He asked if there were separate rules for different parties because the Returning Officer cancelled some votes based on the violence that marred voting in the areas where the results came from.

Details of results are as follows: Bichi LGA – APC: 1,969, PDP: 39; Bebeji LGA -APC: 205, PDP: 0; Rogo LGA – APC: 1,033, PDP: 162; Karaye LGA – APC: 1,317, PDP: 27; Rimin Gado LGA – APC: 1,463, PDP: 12; LGA: Warawa- APC: 501, PDP: 152; Rano LGA – APC: 2,337, PDP: 37;

Dambatta LGA – APC: 608, PDP:24; Takai LGA – APC: 4,221, PDP: 149; Albasu LGA – APC: 1,804, PDP: 66; Gabasawa LGA – APC: 728, PDP: 329; Minjibir LGA – APC: 2,414, PDP: 226; Wurno LGA – APC: 904, PDP: 609.

Sokoto: PDP, APC in close race

The Independent National Electoral Commission has announced the results of the rerun in nine local government areas in Sokoto State with the Peoples Democratic Party having a slight edge over the All Progressives Congress.

In Kware LGA, APC polled 211, PDP 186; Tureta, APC 56, PDP 238; Isa, APC 68, PDP 98; Gwadabawa, APC 187, PDP 163; Yabo, APC 110, PDP 106; and Dange Shuni, APC 652, PDP 626.

In Sokoto South LGA, APC scored 313 while PDP polled 278; Bodinga, APC 299, PDP 309; Binji, APC 517 and PDP 1,039.

In the March 9 governorship poll, Governor Aminu Tambuwal of the PDP polled 489,558 votes while his close rival, Alhaji Ahmad Aliyu of the APC, scored 486, 145 votes.

In his remarks before the commencement of the result declaration, the state Resident Electoral Commissioner, Sadiq Musa, said the outcome would be added to the previous results of the March 9 elections which were declared inconclusive.

Musa said, “The declaration will be based on simple majority. The Collation/ Returning Officer of the governorship election, Prof. Fatima Mukhtar will handle it accordingly.”

Wamakko LGA — APC: 417, PDP: 221; Rabah LGA – APC:1,411, PDP: 1,319

Benue returning officer shot

Unknown gunmen on Saturday shot and wounded the Returning Officer of Gboko Local Government Area, Prof T. Dooshima.

An eyewitness, Mr Issac Utom, told journalists in Makurdi that Dooshima, another electoral officer for the local government and the driver were in the vehicle marked FG 273 UO1 when the attack occurred.

He said the attack came after the returning officer had declared the results of the House of Assembly election.

He said, “They shot Prof. Dooshima, who is the returning officer for Gboko LGA. After they shot her, we drove straight to INEC headquarters so that we can make a statement about the incident. She is in the hospital.”

Was Kwankwaso a contestant in the election? Or is he the godfather that wants to continue to rule the state by proxy, initially using Ganduje his god-son who has rebuffed his control, and now wanting to use his in-law to turn Kano State to his family inheritance?
Point of correction, ganduje was never a godson to kwankwaso, it is like that of sanwo-olu and hamzat, or is hamzat a godson to sanwo-olu.

You said Based on the report of polling officers. But the polling officers didn't report that there were malpractices or disenfranchisement. Inec failed to prove the reason for ordering rerun on the affected units. I think you should read the judgement not people's opinions.

Tribunal canceled the results of the affected units and declared Adeleke winner. The returning officer erred by cancelling the polling units. The polling officers had already declared results. No report of malpractices. Remember the phone call he answered and PMB remote control statement. Have a nice day.

APC is such a useless party... Inec should set a better precedence by canceling the sham of an election in kano, otherwise it would be assumed a free for all fight in subsequent elections.

With APC at the helm of affairs, its either we all go the thug way or we get ruled by thugs..

The dolts even brag on violence and killings of innocent voters, these people are evil.
If thats the case Benue should also be cancelled because most votes didn't go through card reader. The same Inec conducted both elections.

I think its quite too early to think apc will win the kano state governorship election. Because adding all the vite apc had garnered in the supplementary election for the 13 LGA announced = 19,504 while that for pdp is 1,832. But adding 19504 to the apc's previous score of 987,819 = 1007323. While adding pdp's 1832 to previous vote score of 1014474 = 1016306. Thus, this still puts PDP in the lead as for now depending on the outcome of the remaining LGA's. But obviously if apc did same charades as they did in the already announced LGA's throughout the 28 LGA's where the supplementary elections took place, then apc might have the day.
But for now, its safe to say PDP is Winning in Kano State.

The thread is concerning the supplementary elections. Ganduje is leading.

Based on this supplementary results, I think Tambuwal has won this. He was leading by over 3000 votes before the rerun, and has obviously extended it by a further 2000 plus votes...so he now leads with over 5K votes.

So as it stands, APC needs a magic wand...they need 6000 votes from Kebbe(APC stronghold) to win this...fingers crossed... grin grin grin

PDP people no try, were they thinking The APC will sit back and watch them take their territory, mhen this is Nigeria forget all this English you must have a rigging plan as well. I thought they had learn a lesson from Osun. and don't forget not all tribunal might favour you. APC played a fast one.

this is Nigerian politics.

Don't mind the dolts, talking about same Kwankwaso that has lost elections to the likes of Shekarau. The only reason PDP is even giving APC a close race in this Kano election was the people revolting against Ganduje cos of his bribery Gandollar scandal. If that had not happened, Ganduje would have won the PDP guy hands down in the first ballot.
