Personally, I think a 21 yr old boy in Nigeria by now is old enough to start fighting for his future and not securing his mother's stay in an unreasonable father's house.
Reading tru the story, I deduced that the man- father was a very useless man so I don't have much to comment on him.
The 'ata were' mother was forced to be shameless in reaction to her useless husband's action. I'm of the opinion that a woman that has already born 21year old child for a man and they still together shouldn't be surprised if her husband engages himself in such stupewd act. Def, I did not see the woman being jealous like that but rather protecting her home for her children which is reasonable. But if sincerely she was fighting for home, she should gather her own fruits, console them and show them how to look unto God and their palms instead of relying on their irresponsible father's source.
Now, my comment; the boy did not have any right to machete his father, he did not have any ethical reason to be watching her mother engaging in DAT shameful act. Immediately, his father started trying to bring back the lost peace, he was supposed to join his father and settle the fight so that peace will reign again but his negative working brain quickly processed killing his father instead of helping his family from breaking down.
Critically, I think the boy is capable of killing his father with that bad move alone and can stand to do that because of inheriting his father"s humble belongings.
Its actually deep anyway, what I typed considers a lot of things that are beyond that particular story.
