I support this motion...

In Nigerian universities, some silly lecturers feel when they fail 80% of their students they are being mean or wicked or strong. But in saner societies, if 80% of your students fail an examination, you the lecturer will be severely queried for not doing your job of teaching them properly.

Very correct, means d lecturers has some questions to be answer, how can more Dan half of a class failed a particular course, and dis is really happening in Nigeria higher institutions
Because in Nigeria universities, lecturers don't like many students passing their courses. Because it's always a slap in the face when more than 20% students passes their course. SMH

It is because there is no check and balance. Some lecturers are proud to say nobody can have an A in their course.

That alone should be an offence, because why teach when you are not going to make a student excel in your course.

Students should be part of lecturers appraisal for promotion and appointment.
. Yes oh a lecturer once told us that in class in pH here, that no one can make 1st class in his course, because he too didn't make 1st class, I felt highly discouraged by that.

A laboratory is meant to sit 30, you admit 305, what miracle do you want the lecturer to perform? will the 80% be on the sitting capacity or the admitted capacity? Some universities decided to do batching but, there is a limit to the number of batches the staff can comfortably handle.

Nigerian universities need massive infrastructural intervention that is real and adequate.

I disagree with him, he should not bring INEC rules into the university system, it won't work.

DINO IS NOT MAKING ANY SENSE.WHEN U FAIL A COURSE IN THE UNIVERSITY U DO A RE-SIT OR CARRY OVER UNTIL THE OUT COME OF THE CARRY OVER UR RESULT IS INCONCLUSIVE.THE RE-SIT/CARRY OVER IS THE SUPPLEMENTARY ELECTION AND IT IS ADDED TO UR OVER ALL RESULT FOR UR CGPA.SO DINO IS NOT SAYING ANYTHING NEW BUT SEEKING ATTENTION AND CHEAP POPULARITY AS ALWAYS.

Yeah there's certainly an infrastructural problem. But some lecturers also need to be evaluated to confirm their mental fitness for their jobs. There's a clear difference between a lecturer whose capacity to deliver is limited by the infrastructure deficit, and a lecture who gleefully boasts that 80% will fail his course.

May God punish all those lectures who give just 3 people A in a course usually 70 on the dot out of like 400 students.

Young man, I will advised you for your interest to focus on your future and leave lecturers alone. Do lecturers give students grade or students procure their grade? So if a student doesn't deserve being awarded A, he/she should be "given" A all because there's a large pool of students that sat for the exam. Given any student an unmerited grade is the worst thing any lecturer can do his/her nation.

Sir, it is on record that things are not obtained easily in Nigeria, more especially from government institutions. Less you forget, private universities in Nigeria are into competitive business. Hence, the need to award marks in order to retain their clients and also attract new clients who can afford their fee.

The training equips Nigerian students to excel and top their classes when they travel overseas for further study.

Quite Funny but it should be implemented.

I also expect the lecturer to reteach the course before the supplementary exam is taken because if most students fail your course as a lecturer, you are most likely part of the problem.
