I think you are about to be scanned ma. Western countries rarely do unskilled visa programmes. Please do your research very well before paying for anything or relocating. Google the scheme - if legitimate you will see it on the Canadian immigration website. There is nothing like unskilled migration to Canada at least from Nigeria. Be careful so that you and your husband will not be defrauded. All applications for skilled migration to Canada is through Express Entry. There are loads of fake Agents out there. My words of Advice. 2 Likes |

Never give your money to any agent. I live and work in canada and there is no visa like that. Go for express entry. Dont let yourself be scammed. A friend of mine was scammed 1.4M Naira few weeks ago. 4 Likes |

nobody is going anywhere. We are all in this together. If they had gone out to vote, there won't be any need to migrate |

graceajunwa: I'll say go for it. My dad was in a similar situation (he got a job offer in London back in 2007) and he took all of us (the company sponsored his visa and all). Granted life at first might be tough as you struggle to settle in but its worth it. The opportunities that'll be available to you and your family is insane. Go for it. To minimize the risk you're taking, it might be advisable for your husband to travel first (my dad travelled first, settled in and then brought us over). Once your husband is settled, has a flat and reasonable money coming in, he can then start making arrangements to bring the rest of you guys over. I think thats better instead of both of you quitting your jobs at the same time and putting all your eggs in one basket 3 Likes 1 Share |

i hate having to troll on NAIRALAND requests, but frankly your written English puts a very big question on the fact that you claim to be a lawyer ,"am going", "we have a good opportunity", "will it be??" "carrier instead of career" frankly am disgusted especially in your second post, my candid advice for you would be to improve on your spoken English if you wanna stand any chance on passing the IELTS exam you wanna write graceajunwa 6 Likes |

[quote author=Clefayomide post=76897958]Hello ma, hope this message meets you well. My advice for you is, Please migrate now so you won't live with the regrets later. Life in Nigeria is unpredictable and has a way of suppressing ones dreams at times. This is the best time for you to migrate cos your kids are still very young, you and your husband would be able to further your education before your kids might have come of age and expenses tends to be on the high side. Another thing is, consider the future of this kids, as a parent I'm sure u wouldn't want your kids to grow up in an environment where nothing seems to be working. Set down a good foundation for this kids pls. Canada is a very good place to settle in terms of opportunities, good education, good working system, cost of living etc. If people earning 400k in Nigeria are leaving for places like Canada, what excuse does a couple with 260k salary in total have for not leaving when the opportunity kicks in?[/quote All that you wrote is sweet. Have u been there.? Talking about another country from what you read online is like thinking what you see in Hollywood movies equal what's on ground in the USA 1 Like |

You're both in the Federal Civil Service. And you're considering relocating to Canada without concrete plans. DO NOT TRY IT. Take my advice and you and your family would be grateful for it. 1 Like |

I don't know why some people render bad advice. Migrating anywhere is not as easy as people make it seem here, because it goes beyond having a visa. There's a general nationalist fervor out there in most countries that targets migrants, especially those who come under the unskilled worker category as most nationals think their jobs are being taken away by third world immigrants ready to work for peanuts, and thus the atmosphere--and politics--are becoming hostile. migration is not as simple as securing a visa, work or not, and simply finding comfort out there. As a non-permanent resident you'll find things very difficult, especially housing, high taxes beyond what you're used to in Naija that sucks up your meager income, and general feeling of "i don't belong here". Very skilled workers, doctors and nurses and IT specialists, have a better chance and even that is quite selective and demanding. People especially visa fraudsters, should stop making people believe leaving one's country to settle in someone else's is as easy as moving from Ikeja to Lekki. 2 Likes |

RantiFadahunsi:Your advice looks good from someone in the system but unfortunately, it's almost impossible to get the desperate people realised of the journey they are about to take. However, I hope they will listen to their heart and not their head if truly they intend to pursue this cause. |
