graceajunwa: Don't fall for that. Companies cannot guarantee you visa renewal. If you're earning peanuts and you pay taxes and rent and groceries, precious little would be left to get your kids good education. Be very careful and if possible have someone close to you verify both the company offering the job and the agent. |

I believe you have nothing to lose if you choose to dump this country for Canada. Both of your combined pay is 260k . You sure need more that for the future of your kids. Above all present it before God to be divinely guided. Best of Luck! |

jjohndoe83: Hello MR or Mrs lawyer. What is the simple first definition of research on google? For your info, when you are doing a research, there is a section of it rolled out called ''questionnaires''. research is just a systematic investigation to get fats which may come from inquiries or studying. Her creating a thread here is a very good one for her because she has really been getting very good answers to her research. And who told you she hasn't been reading other stuffs? If you feel too busy to assist her in the research, why not leave others who are happily assisting her. So because she is a lawyer she shouldn't ask questions here? The materials you asked her to go and study were they all written by lawyers? Maybe she should only be looking for lawyers' materials. 5 Likes 2 Shares |

ifegy: Bro is there any provision for couples that are not skilled but willing to migrate to Canada? Let say the husband is a self employed business man (trader) and wife sell clothes but they have the financial capacity to relocate to Canada. Any advice? |

graceajunwa:Dont take the agents word for it... Try and get contacts of some Nigerians living in Canada to get a practical overview of things. You must be street-wise/smart....Emigration and living abroad or hustling is for smart people. Use agents but also do your due diligence or else you could become cannon fodder for the wolves out there... |

DO YOU WANT TO HEAR THE TRUTH THIS IS A SCAM!!!! There is no country that allows unskilled workers to migrate to their country. I live in California it's next door to Canada. When you get to Canada you will face a different problem from what you're used to and you will have to struggle to navigate your way out of it. This is a different terrain, nobody will want to accommodate your entire family because you're undocumented and they don't know when you will be able to get your documents, nobody wants to be stuck with extra burden of catering for your family for years unknown. The truth is that it's always good to travel as a single person then the family can join him/her later when they have fully settle down. Good luck guys. |

Hello Madam, As your learned brethren who once worked in civil service, I had to just say this little piece to you. Just to clarify, Canada does have a Temporary Work Permit program which is for those who plan to work for a finite period i.e those who are non-immigrants . If I am to believe this scheme you are about to get into, I would say if genuine , you are being set up to be a temporary or guest worker. This would present a problem down the line if your actual intention is to relocate with your family (albeit with some exceptions ) Now I have reservations with this whole agency thing as it seems you may be setting up yourself for a major scam down the line. The process of skilled migration is pretty open and straightforward and you can research this easy and cross -check to verify whatever you learn. There is a skilled workers' program everyone knows about and its best you follow that legal immigration route if this is your intention. there are lawyers who I know have migrated from Nigeria to Canada and have actually started their practice. All legal and verifiable. Please begin your research on available options for legal immigration and verify all details before proceeding. Cheers 1 Like |

Hedonisst: My apologies if that came out offensive, treat it otherwise. My bad. It's actually a mistake on my part comparing the salary in my country to that in Nigeria without considering other economical factors. 1 Like |

graceajunwa:Do not quit and move unless you get a guaranteed job, not promise. It would have been different if you don't have children. If you must move, let one of you go first. There are a lot of skilled Canadian immigrants who now depend on government welfare because they didn't plan well. |

graceajunwa: My own advise is that you insist to play after the biometrics. I've not heard of anyone using this kind of path to migrate to Canada. And I don't want to summarily dismiss it as a scam. If biometrics goes through, it means that your profile is officially in their system. So after biometrics, and your passport is collected, and officially visa stamped, it might be legit. Always look out for signs |

Canada is a good destination to grow kids. You will be better off if you choose to relocate. Step 1; Do not resign from your present jobs just yet. Step 2: Try and investigate that the offer is real. Step 3. Process the papers and plan to take your vacation at the same time with your husband. Step 4. Travel to Canada and weigh the situation by yourself say 3 weeks. Vacation for Civil servants is up to a month, so its doable. Step 5. If you feel satisfied tender your pre written designation letters. I wish you guys the very best. |

graceajunwa: if you can take my advice dont try it life will be hell in paradise for you. you dont have job secured and u are totally dependent on an agent one of my frnd was doing same but the agent ran away with money after all stories and grammer he gave to them. you are government employee here and a lawyer if you can try hard you can have good income here. remember one thing once you earn in dollars you send in dollars it will br hand to mouth for you and i assume you are alteast comfortable here with income and have a house and a family to care. once thr you will be working all time to pay bills. as a lawyer here you can still make extra income by drafting petition and other stuff lawyers do. |

Madam please leave. Canada is the best. I live in Canada. If My husband, myself and my daughter who is a US citizen left US to Canada I can't see the reason why you should be confused. What I don't understand is the visa package. Canada is the only country I've always pray to God to bless because they gave hope and good life to lots of families. |
Re: Civil Servants Need Advice On Whether To Migrate To Canada by Ucheamani(m): 3:42pm On Mar 25, 2019 |
graceajunwa:Canadian immigration will not give u visa to go to Canada as an unskilled worker. There is simply no program like that. If the scammer eventually succeeds in getting u a visa, you will still be turned back by the entry clearance officer at the border. What I suspect is that the guy may get u a visa for vacation and then arrange for you to work illegally as an unskilled labourer. .My brother if you can't follow the express entry format, better chill here and train your kids. This kind of arrangement is good for someone on the ground in naija without job, skill or hope. Not for an employed and responsible family man. 1 Like |
