Realdon1: Yes, if she has plenty money to support you which is most unlikely. But still check ur circumstances in naija because Canada will not give u a visit visa if u do not have sufficient tie in naija like investment or family. |

Go to Canada or stay in Nigeria and continue to hear stories about Herdsmen, Boko Haram, Minimum wage, Buhari, Recession, Inflation, Obasanjo, Atiku, Mahmood Yakubu, Tinubu etc and other stories we are tired of hearing everyday. Choose wisely. |

Life in its totality is about the fear of the unknown. For you moving there is a risk on its own but one thing I know is that. You’ll figure out a way and you’ll be fine in the end. Give it a shot and you’ll be back to thank us while we are also aspiring. Best of luck. |

Re: Civil Servants Need Advice On Whether To Migrate To Canada by kpolli(m): 3:54pm On Mar 25, 2019 |
graceajunwa: How much are you paying this agent for this visa? I hope it is not a scam. What kind of blue collar job is it? What city in Canada? If you and your husband have the degree; check if you'll qualify for the express entry migration path. Don't dash your money out and end up doing something you'll regret. You're a lawyer, you can also make something of your career "in the abroad" too |

I wanted to just read but I can't help but to say my mind. My dear please don't rush to get anyhow visa to Canada, I have been there before and I would want u to be duped. It's all a scam forget about all the story the visa agent is telling u. Follow the normal process if u want to migrate. I spent six months in Canada before I was deported don't fall a victim. He want to scam u and ur husband, relax and plan well, ur already in level 10 which means ur a potential director to be, patient u will get there. The favour of God will locate u anywhere u are, Canada is a place of great opportunity but I won't lie to u if u don't have anybody there to lay the foundation for u, u will be deported and u will start afresh as a new applicant don't go to Canada just yet evaluate the situation very well. I would want to share my experience over there but I wish u the best of luck. Many end up in jail, I was a cab driver for 3 months 6 Likes |

You better go. Minimum wage is $10/hr. You will hopefully get loans to do a course or something. For your children's sake leave. Nigeria doesn't seem to be on any track not to talk of right track. No direction, vision 2020 obasanjo & co talked about decades ago is only a dream now. The comment right before this should be considered too. |
Re: Civil Servants Need Advice On Whether To Migrate To Canada by okeniti: 4:04pm On Mar 25, 2019 |
In my honest opinion op, stay in Nigeria and work hard/smart to make your OWN situation better. I don't trust who is guiding you to Canada and would hate to hear you were sold a pipe dream. Looking at Canadian Dollar v Naira, yes you might make more money in Canada (and Obodo Oyinbo to a greater extent) but your cost of living will increase drastically (higher tax rate, monthly rent) which doesn't necessarily mean higher quality of life. Also cold weather will affect your health. Unless you NEVER want to come back, you'll have to look out for your people back home which is extra pressure. One more thing, I don't know how important it is to you but your culture could die with you once you leave the shores and "coming back home" may be very tricky. in relation to your children, all I would say is that education does not guarantee/equate to success, whether they are in Nigeria or Canada. This is just my opinion, ultimately the choice is yours. You already see the pros, my purpose here is to provide the cons. 4 Likes |

Hello, I am a Nigerian living in Canada. I am actually a Canadian Citizen. It is possible that it is not a scam, however, the likelihood that you will be doing menial is very high. Most times these kind of jobs can be tough and pay less relative to the cost of living in the area you will be working. You can ask for the wages of the position and the job description. If you know the location, Google the cost of rents and general cost of living there(just search apartment rent in the name of the town/city). Include taxes, see how you fare. In a clear times, it is very likely it is a labor job. Also, be aware that there is no guaranty that the Visa could be extended, you might be able to apply for PR afterwards though. I was forced to write this piece in case it can be beneficial to you and others. I think most people living abroad and those people in Nigeria commenting are either not sincere with the truth/reality or they don't actually know. Life in Canada is not rosy as it is portrayed! Some might think that I might be saying this because things are not alright for me, praise be to God, I think I been lucky. Canada welcomes many highly qualified immigrants, so competition is extremely stiff. As a result of this, I have seen some Nigerians who came here and later decided to go back to Nigeria to take the position/job they left but the jobs were gone. This is a reality!. Then I see most people migrating to create a better future for their children, while this seems reasonable. I really think people going for this reason really need to think critically about it. The chance of kids becoming morally bankrupt is high, remember you can't discipline like you will do in Nigeria. Even the quality of the schools(especially primary and secondary) is not too good. The kids will also likely face racism like you too will face, racism is real my friend. In conclusion, before deciding to go or not go. Please think critically and seek God's guidance. God has knowledge of today and future, and he knows the best for you. I wish you good luck in your endeavors. 10 Likes 1 Share |

graceajunwa: which civil servant work pay 260k in Nigeria, are you permanent secretary or director in the ministry. You don't deserve my advice because you are a liar. As one time accountant in the civil service, I know their salary structure. |

graceajunwa: Don't depend on whatever plans the agent is making after visa has been received. there have been cases of people paying agent for things like this and only to get there and discover the agent didn't make any further arangement after the visa proper. i'll advice you make all arrangements yourself. accomodation, job, e.t.c don't depend on the sweet talks he/she is giving you, they do so to hike their fees. have enough cash before leaving so you can rent anapartment if his isn't forthcoming 1 Like |

why not take leave then either one of you travel and see things the way they are, because if both of you resign your work and later found out the work pay is not as good as the one compared here, it won't be funny, my advice is for you to continue your work here, others are looking for your opportunity to be working like you and your husband. |
