In high hopes of having a new party and fresh hands represent the district, electorates in Anambra South elected Ifeanyi Ubah, despite coming from a virtually unknown Young Progressives Party (YPP). He managed to garner enough support to defeat candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), who are all much more popular than the new YPP.
