Favor99:You cannot stop the fighting for the last 15 years nigerians have been insulting other african countries badly. A lot of african countries have reached their boiling points or nigerians. Nigerians insult ever body which is better than them. Enough is enough nigerians need to be taught a lesson and a bitter one indeed. We cannot keep on allowing nigerians to run to other african countries and then start insulting us. 2 Likes |

tylann: You are sounding like that because you are currently experiencing the same fate ...on the contrary yours is worst . Because yours will lead to neocolonialism ..you are ranked third country in africa with the highest foreign debt. .and ghana on the other hand is among top ten...or why did you think their president have recently been shouting africa without debt...it is actually ghana without debt...they need that memo first before any other country ...how can ghana with a gdp of $50 billion after 62 years of independence be owing $37 billion 2 Likes 1 Share

samorobo:learn economics 401 for free. Government debt is a capital loaned to the government. And that is what is used to build highways, public goods, and services that are so big and permanent .they will be handed down through the generations. GHANA IS NOT USING THE MONEY TO PAY SALARIES. what Nigeria recently did. So Ghana sovereign debt is nothing like your mortgage debt. Or such debt Nigeria borrow to pay Goverment salaries. In Ghana ,it is not difficult for the government to create and spend money in the future. Since the interest payments are simply paid for with new money; and most importantly, it costs the government nothing in real resources to create and spend assets into the private sector while holding the liabilities indefinitely. And these government liabilities (bonds, reserves, and cash) are held by the private sector as debt-free assets. Ghana isn’t burdened by interest payments, because the government creates money at no cost. And they aren’t burdened by “paying off the principle” because all government liabilities are interchangeable - just like how bank of Ghana is about to exchange bonds for dollars (and with a few keystrokes; no pre-existing money has to be amassed. It is just accounting/ economics. Hope you have learn? 4 Likes 1 Share |

Just like Kenya,we only raise Eurobonds to fund big money projects of high value returns to the economy which most of them include roads, dams, ports and railways. We don't borrow to fund our recurrent expenditure! vaxx: 4 Likes 1 Share |

We are also raising bonds internally! Some bonds are oversubscribed by even more than 300%! We want to balance our domestic and foreign debt percentage to be at equilibrium. This means we are making the domestic and foreign debt to be of 50% each of our total debt. In Kenya, the average Joe can join the bond market by lending the government through the M-Akiba platform for as low as 30 dollars! I've lent the government some cash and I'm hoping I'll cash in sometime in future! No country in the world can its citizens sell bonds through the mobile phone! vaxx: 3 Likes

Jonraid:whaoo. Can i also invest? Actually, Ghana recently raised 3 billon dollar(eurobond ) of recent which was also oversubscribed to the tune of 21 biillion dollar. The money is expected to land in the bank of Ghana account by April. It will further strenghten the cedis and impoved economic growth. 2 Likes |
