This is worse than armed robbery. Armed robbery can't harm more than 100 people in an operation, that's assuming it's big branch of a bank.

It is not actually 6 years. it is 2 years he would be serving since the prison sentences run concurrently in each of the 3 counts against him

Two years each for 3 count is 6yrs to run concurrently is still just 2years. The only improvement is the fine which is returning if the loot . if the man sleeps in prison for just 2yrs and have 32billion then nothing really have change. A life sentence will have been enough deterrent to others.

The judge in question acted judicially but not judiciously. Under the panel code, there's a clause for discretion, so he was able to do that due to the weakness of the penal code that was written way back in the 50's. We need an overhaul... This country is a joke

Read the story...This was actually an appeal judgement. He was formerly sentenced to two years imprisonment with option of fine of #750,000 in 2013 during GEJ lead government..... EFCC appealed and The deserved judgment has just been served.

Man is only serving 2yrs and if I understand our archaic penal code, he may have already served it prior to this judgement. This isn't a deterrent in any way, just a plain invitation to steal as much as possible.
