post=77050182:The truth is that for the past 3 years in Gwagwalada and Environs, electricity supply is like 2 days a week .And each of the two days do not exceed 6hours each. You can verify. Only those in the FACT municipal have steady electricity. A protest is being planned as I speak. That's why I can't be enthusiastic like you.. If indeed some states have 24hours electricity, it is implied that the worst state/area will have 12hours electricity. The power generated by the gengos seem not to be growing. Yet people are getting 24hours electricity. I honestly don't know where the lies are coming from 9 Likes 1 Share |

I stay in Rukpokwu Port Harcourt. I have not seen light since last week. If they restore the power, throughout the day we won't see it. It will usually be from 1am to 4 or 6am. It will be like that for roughly 5days and then there will be outage for 1week or more. The only places that enjoy constant power supply around this area are some parts of Woji, some parts of Rumuola and Eliozu. But that is not to say that Rivers State enjoys 24hrs power supply. I am spending roughly 30k monthly to power my Gen set and I just pray power supply around this area should improve. 7 Likes 1 Share |

philfearon: I currently saty in Ibadan. Moved here about 6 weeks ago from Abuja. I really would have believed him if I was in Abuja because it was pretty good. Almost 22hrs on average. I have just seen the light. This is the worst I have seen in Nigeria. There are times we don't have for 3 days or even more and it seems normal. I am coming to the conclusion Fasholas priority is for the north. Yet the states that generate mor IGR than Kebbi have to resort to self help. Did he mention any southern state? Even Yobe where cut off mark for common entrance is one of the lowest? If he can do for Kebbi and Tobe, why is Oyo in such a bad state? 9 Likes 1 Share |

Oga Fashola, my guy for lag that year, i use God beg u, abeg no dey talk, because everytime wey you yarn like this, e dey be like say your brain no dey with you. How can you even say that? This is one position wey presido mess up big time, e suppose pick person wey dun dey work but wey study power supply under mechanical or electrical engineering. Am not referring to our nigerian wash wash degree holder, am talking about a naija person that know naija but studied or furthering their education abroad but in the power supply field. You should have researched a bunch of them and chosen one from all of them. Power supply, health, infrastructure, and one or more post(s) should be handled by knowledgable naijans from outside of naija and exempted from all that nysc(suffer suffer) initiation; that includes many parts of our security positions. 2 Likes 1 Share |

States? Do you know the meaning of State? Yes some communities or Local Government might be enjoying near 24hrs or 24hrs as in case of Bonny Island of Rivers State because of the proximity of power plants and companies social responsibility but no State is enjoying anything close to 24hrs of electricity supply. iammo: 2 Likes |

I don't understand, even my area in Lag never had up to 22hrs electricity as at last year... I've been in Edo state and for the past 9 months, I've never enjoyed 10hrs electricity. The highest thing I've seen is 9hrs and its not even straight. Something like 12am-3am, 6am-9am & 6pm-9pm. We don't even have upto 4hrs again since last 2 weeks. 4 Likes |

I just hate it when people open mouth and be saying for the past 2 weeks we are having light for 22 hrs, just imagine, only 2 weeks, you are celebrating something that will still break down almost immediately.. What happens to sustainable development huh!? Is it the first time you will notice that in Nigeria, but how far will the 22 hrs go. And who told you guys that people have not stayed in some places in Nigeria in the past where for like 2 years they do experience up to 20 hrs of power supply but still ended up breaking down that those same areas no longer even see up to 5 hrs electricity in a day. Exactly as in the area I stayed before, after 2 to 3 years, the light conditions started being pathetic. Have you seen any good thing in Nigeria that lasts before? 5 Likes 1 Share |

iammo: Seems there is a priority for Northern states. No joke here. Why is nobody talking about this? The title of the thread should be "Why are states in the North getting more stable electricity than the South". I hate to refer to it that way but that is what it seems to look like. 1 Like |

I stay in Lagos and we have at least 12 hour of light per day. They is no single day we won't atleast have light. Unlike before 2-3 days of darkness. Maybe not 24 hours but it has improved appreciably. Well will get there. 1 Like |

tiwiex: My very poor defense for this; is perhaps nearness to hydro power plant and lack of energy consuming industry as compared to south, the power evacuated through the 330kva line to the national grid could be sheded to a substation to serve the low energy consuming farmer state without much consequence |

In Birnin Kebbi, light is 24 HOURS. Even, if it goes off, be very assured it will come back at most 5 minutes. Fashola is not lying about Kebbi and Yobe. Both are in the North, have low population, no industries, and are border states where power is being transmitted to Niger Republic 3 Likes |

Omudia11: You are enjoying 24/7 electricity in your own state while at the same time claiming it's a lie because some states are not enjoying the same thing.? Is your own state not part of Nigeria? Or the minister should have dropped down to your comprehension level and by saying every street and city? 4 Likes |

My little understanding about the power generally are 1. Some people wouldn't know when there is fault that has not been reported to electricity for prompt action. Meanwhile many has forgotten that disco companies are not witch they wouldn't know if there is a problem in a particular place. The best thing is to go to their various offices once you observed you don't have light just to be informed on what went wrong. They can't kill you there. 2. Some staffs that are in charge of shredding loads usually sell some shedding to the highest bidder. It simply means of you have money to bribe the person in charge instead of shedding 12hrs for you he will have to deduct the remaining 12hrs from other places like taking 4hrs from other places just for you to have 24hrs IN the same state. 3. Why some people here are jubilating is because there some improvements it cannot just be 24hrs all through at a go. MANY OF US ONL KNOWS CORRUPTION OF BRIBING NOT TO CUT OFF LIGHT THEY DONT KNOW THAT THERE IS CORRUPTION FROM THE DISCOS ON SHEDDING OF LIGHT IS BETTER TO FOLLOW IT UP. 3 Likes |
