darkelf:you're very funny. .. I am not sure you knew what happened during the world cup... are you aware that Mikel's father was kidnapped prior the Argentina match? please provide me with the Super Eagles players rating for the Iceland and Croatia game...and let's talk on Mikel relevance. please do...I am waiting. |

Humility017: I'm talking about how Mikel helped us win games. Since we lost, player rating doesn't matter. Who cares about that, the fact still remains that Croatia were the second best team at the tournament and we were one of the worst. We crashed out..we lost simple!!!!! Player raying or not we couldn't even make the second round |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by darkelf: 5:23pm On Mar 28, 2019 |
forgiveness: I didn't say Mikel isn't a good player. Heck, he was important to us in AFCON 2013. But when we had the best support from the NFF, when it mattered the most, we lost badly. We lost 2 games of 3. That is what matters. Mikel is very good but may not be as indispensable as we think. Wouldn't he retire one day. When that day comes, what next?? Do we want another wahala just as we are facing in the goalkeeping dept since enyeama retired and ikeme fell I'll. That's what I'm talking.g about. We need to step up and on sure qw are up to the task |

Olulong:let Siasia take over another team and lead them to sometjing first We did not consider Keshi just like that, we are not talking about Amunike today because of age grade success. Keshi coached two teams, before he was given the Nigerian job, Amunike has successfully coached Tanzania to their first AFCON in 39 years. Siasia cannot be sitting down in his house, and we will be talking about him as if he is a proper coach. Let us talk about people with quality experience, not people with excuses 11 Likes 2 Shares |

chrisooblog: Nacho didn't deserve a place plain and simple. Rohr has nothing to do with what nacho must do to get back. He should have just left the boy be. I think if we are being honest we all should be asking why Ekong is favoured over Omerou because it is definitely not about football. |

safarigirl: I'll agree on the fact that he should get another job but in my honest opinion he his better than Gernot Rohr both tactically and his style of play is a joy to behold not like Gernot Rohr super eagles team who always struggle to string 5 passes together 1 Like |

BascoVanVeli: Omeruo started over Balogun in the Seychelles game because Balogun is not getting game time. Ekong has probably been our most consistent defender |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 5:58pm On Mar 28, 2019 |
darkelf: The Super Eagles has a chance of winning with or without Mikel. We are stronger with Mikel on the line up but can cope without him. However, my problem still lies in the development of the team on the international scene and how formidable we can become against top opponents. I do not think we are marching in that direction. 1 Like |

Olulong: You cannot even compare Siasia to Gernot Rohr because of youth grade team Maybe John Obuh and Manu Garba are world class coaches because they won U-17 world cup Siasia has zero qualification as a first team coach 1 Like |

Olulong: I also believe Siasia is ahead of Rohr tactically and in setting up the team to play brilliantly. I feel it is the way we should play and grow as a team. However, it seems Pinnick's led NFF is more interested in short term success and just want a silverware on the cabinet to gloat over. 1 Like |

tbaba1234: I could have started against Seychelles. The true message was sent when Omeruo got dropped for the Egypt match. On what grounds is Ekong the most consistent defender? That is a fictitious comment. I wonder if you would have forgiven Omerou for the penalty he gave away against Croatia. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by tbaba1234: 6:07pm On Mar 28, 2019 |
Olulong: Siasia is not better than Rohr tactically. His style of play is more adventurous and entertaining but his teams often demonstrate defensive naivety. Rohr sets us up to defend better. 6 Likes 2 Shares |

Earthquake2: Zidane had little qualifications as a first team coach before breaking champions league records. Same with Pep Guardiola. By the way, I am one of those who believes in the universality of football coaching methods. That was why Amunike could impress with Tanzania. We just downplay our coaches and do not give them the support to succeed. More like sabotaging them and then say they are not good. 2 Likes 1 Share |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 6:13pm On Mar 28, 2019 |
tbaba1234: Rohr sets up his team to defend first. That makes the team solid at the back but very blunt in attack. Siasia takes the creative and the harder route due to his tactical depth to play in a more entertaining and adventurous fashion. There is a reason why most coaches who are not sound tactically adopt the defensive pattern. They are solid on the back but not tactically sound. That is the same scenario with Rohr. It is easier to set up the team and coach them to play like Mourinho than to play like Guardiola. 1 Like |

BascoVanVeli: Egypt game was a friendly. Seychelles was the competitive match. Ekong played all through the qualifiers for both WC and AFCON and hardly had a poor game. He has also been pretty good for Udinese. Yes he made costly errors in the Croatian game but i am talking overall consistency. 1 Like |

Earthquake2: What was Joachim low's qualification when he took over Germany national team? What was Pep qualification when he took over Barcelona's job? What was zidane's qualification when he took over Real Madrid job? What was Ole qualification before he was employed as an interim manager Even Julen lopetogui achievement as a coach was in Age grade competitions. I mean we are judging him based on the fact that he failed to qualify us for the nations cup. Amunike also failed to qualify us for the Under 20 world cup but he has redeemed himself at Tanzania that's where I'll blame Siasia for not taking another job |

Thank you! Nigeria usually should get to the semis of any AFCON with the absence of administrative lapses. Our issues in the past were more of admin than managerial. Give an average coach AMPLE time and enough support and he will give Nigeria descent results. But hey I’m talking about being progressive and putting us in the map like we never have been. Anything else, we can keep on romancing Rohr for qualifying us for tourneys. Icon79: |

It’s a Nigerian people problem. Modified However, if not for Oliseh’s attitude, he would still be the SE coach till now. And that’s if Pinnick does not bulge to pressures from Nigerians. TheGoodJoe: |

If Rohr can take us to the final of the AFCON I will have not complaints. He doesn’t even have to match Keshi’s achievements. But I doubt he will. Make una come for my head. It happened during the WC. I no run. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 6:31pm On Mar 28, 2019 |
Joebie: Not really. Oliseh could not cope with the sabotage. He did not understand how bad it was from the outside looking in. I remember when Oliseh made the rant video, Peterside Idah got asked why Oliseh complaining was being frowned upon by the NFF. Peterside replied that because the treatment was normal and all other Nigerians coaches deal with the poor treatment handed to them. You can imagine Oliseh going for the CHAN camp and the players did not have food to eat. Oliseh was feeding the players from his pocket. If my memory serves me right, Oliseh spent thousands of dollars feeding the player. When Peterside arrived the camp, the first thing Oliseh did was to ask for money. So I doubt attitude led Oliseh out but our mentality of sabotaging ourselves from doing well. |

Why couldn’t he cope? Isn’t that related to attitude? I didn’t say bad attitude mind u. I’m not even trying to argue if he was wrong or right. But is he able to manage people/relationships well? TheGoodJoe: |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 6:37pm On Mar 28, 2019 |
Joebie: Attitude Ke. Cope with feeding players with thousands of dollars from his pocket. Men that one is not bad attitude but lack of money or means to source for funds to maintain the team. Keep in mind he was not being paid during that period. |

Rohr no be Nigerian but some people sabi blend in. The NFF’s situation has improved, but when Rohr is owed nobody hears kpem. The truth is people who have high tolerance are better in managing relationships. Even me sef I won’t be able to cope in that situation. But I’m just saying it as it is. TheGoodJoe: |

Even our play against these teams were very sloppy. England just walloped Czech 5:0. Iean, even of we don't beat them by that margin, let us at leat show excellence |

BascoVanVeli: Facts, how?? How many games has Omeruo played for country in the last 1 year? In the last year, Ekong for country has been our best defender. Played more games, had more impact. For club, both players are having good seasons for their clubs. You can say, you believe Omeruo is better. That is another debate. 7 Likes |
