Why can’t they thrive? No be attitude difference?

Nah all Oliseh wanted was for NFF to act professionally.
I'd be pissed off too if as a coach, I'm still witnessing the same issues I did as a player.
Some people just can't thrive in our chaotic system. I can't blame them...

Man bone attitude. Man must not chop shit just to prove they are patriotic or something.
Keshi himself would've left after AFCON, WC and during the AFCON qualifiers if Gov didn't step in.

I'll agree on the fact that he should get another job but in my honest opinion he his better than Gernot Rohr both tactically and his style of play is a joy to behold not like Gernot Rohr super eagles team who always struggle to string 5 passes together

Yea. Siasia is better tactically than Rohr until he starts calling his boys...

Our local coaches aren't that tactically poor...their players selection is their biggest undoing! that was how Keshi took Gabriel Reuben to the world cup!!

Rohr no be Nigerian but some people sabi blend in. The NFF’s situation has improved, but when Rohr is owed nobody hears kpem. The truth is people who have high tolerance are better in managing relationships.

Even me sef I won’t be able to cope in that situation. But I’m just saying it as it is.

Rohr has not had to go to camp with players having no food to eat.

I'm talking about how Mikel helped us win games.

Since we lost, player rating doesn't matter.

Who cares about that, the fact still remains that Croatia were the second best team at the tournament and we were one of the worst. We crashed out..we lost simple!!!!! Player raying or not we couldn't even make the second round

so you expect Mikel to swindle the magic wind when the rest players where poor in the field of play...
e.g ighalo who missed a seater against Argentina.

mind you we were not the only ones who failed to make the round of 16...so what's the need for the cry?

c'mon just say you don't want Mikel in the team and stop beating round the bush. ...

I will agree that he's the best for the Super Eagles simply because of the support and the respect he receives from the NFF. Would the NFF accord similar treatment to an indigenous coach? Not a chance!

Yes, some ICs have been accused of egunje and the likes but did we bother to ask ourselves why they resort to such underhanded means? Isn't that simply because they are trying to survive?? The NFF is in habit of owing ICs 6 months or more salary. So how do you expect these men to feed their families I would like for the NFF to pay our ICs coaches their salaries on time (as they do with these foreign coaches) and give them freehand to select players, then let's see if our local coaches are not good enough.

you've not heard on how the NFF owned rohr salaries running into months....?
The old dude even debunked it on several occasions that he is not hungry and with some of his job in Africa in Africa he was not even paid self. ...

you forget that he pays his foreign assistants from his salaries...

yusuf with #5m monthly salary still went to take bribe.... just to include players who were already good enough to make his team. ...

I doubt if he was not well taken care of...

even the last time Siasia and oliseh wrote players like leon and troost ekong off... especially oliseh...he brought Obafemi out from retirement and one unknown sylvester simply because they are his brother protégé. ..and Siasia has his boys too..
same with keshi who gave an unknown player the iconic No 10 jersey to wear....this men were all allowed to pick their squad....and what next? corruption raised its ugly head...

Have you ever compared the salaries our local coaches receive to what Rohr is currently earning? And have you ever checked if Rohr has had to work for at least 6months without pay since he came on? I do not support bribe in any form, but if our local coaches earn well and on time, I dont think they'd need to take bribe.
prior now rohr was owned for some months without pay....

Nigerian coaches...many of them are corrupt even should you pay them money accruing to milions...
remember keshi and adebayo sanga when he was the coach of Togo. many of this westerwolf boys believe they can still get egunge from their players signings.... which is now corruption unlike before. ..

Lol. Why would I feel that way. I have nothing personal against the guy. I just don't like the unnecessary calling of Mikel's name when we don't play well or when our midfielder don't create enough. Is it good to have only one creative midfielder in an entire team that is past his prime? You sef think am. I'm saying the truth and we all know it. Just look at our goalkeeping dept. When you fail to plan, you plan to fail. That's what is happening right now to pur goalkeeping. So, if Mikel talk say him no play again, we won't go to AFCON abi? God forbid he bags a long term injury that rules him out of contention for this year, we will start crying like babies? Mikel this, Mikel that....abeg, let's focus on developing /scouting younger and more creative midfielders than yammering on and on about how Mikel absence affected our play in a game.

Remember how many of us here stated that Vic Moses was equally indispensable... Hope we can see that others have stepped up to fill his shoes. We won and we will win games without Vic moses. When Siasia was Super Eagles coach he was tactically clueless! Period. His team usually budge under pressure. Against Guinea and against Egypt.

Facts, how?? How many games has Omeruo played for country in the last 1 year?

In the last year, Ekong for country has been our best defender. Played more games, had more impact. For club, both players are having good seasons for their clubs.

You can say, you believe Omeruo is better. That is another debate.

The only game he missed in a year is the Egypt match in question. He performed better at the world cup.

Omerou joined a relegation fighting team and they are now a middle of the pack while Ekong joined a middle of the pack team and they are now a relegation side. He outperformed troost in Turkey also so this is not something new. I am speaking on stats and facts not sentiment

Even at the WC, Omeruo was caught on his blind side for Messi's goal and was partly responsible for the penalty against Iceland. Ekong had one bad game but was solid in the other games.

Your analogy of Leganes and Udinese is so simplistic.

Seriously?? Do you understand the complete situation in Udinese? He has been one of their best players. The quote below explains their situation:

"There is a real dearth of quality in defence for Di Nicola's side. He was forced to play Rolando Mandragora (a midfielder) and Jens Stryger Larsen (a full-back) alongside Ekong against Napoli, but even with the full complement at the back, Bram Nuytinck is hardly reliable and Ghana's Nicholas Opoku has had a poor season since joining last summer.

The upshot of this is that Ekong has been thrown in at the deep end and asked to swim. As a didactic method, it is a brutal one, and carries an apparent risk: it could very well break the player who proves weak-minded.

[b]Instead, in his very first season in a new league and a new club, he has frequently been one of the few defenders to emerge with any credit, keeping his head while all around him lose theirs.

So is Omeruo playing with Sergio Ramos or something? Leganes were in shambles at the back when Kenneth came on and his addition has coincided with their improvement. This further proves that he has been the better performer in Europe.

Getting beat by messi is something you tell your grandkids about. What else did messi do in that game? Tyrone made the foul so you can't blame Omeruo for anything.

Another simplistic statement. There are 2 players in 2 different situations. Not comparable. There are other factors responsible for both clubs situation.

The penalty was not just Ebuehi's fault. He was sold short by Omeruo. And yes, Omeruo's positioning and awareness was lacking for Messi's goal. He was not aware of what was around him.

I will always go for the simple truth so I take your simplistic talk as a compliment. You wouldn't buy the excuses you are giving if they were made on behalf of another player. Both are in top leagues in fact Kenneth is in an even bigger league but yet he made a very poor defense solid. How can you justify overlooking that?

Messi will always have a moment of brilliance. Ekong played in that match and you didn't go "wow".

When you hack down a defender that is your fault. The whole team was playing with fire at that moment if you blame Kenneth then also blame the person who gave him the ball.

Baba,pls spare Omeruo.

Oh Omeruo at fault for Messi goal?even best defenders always find it difficult when it comes to Messi and Ronaldo.

Why blaming Omeruo for Iceland penalty instead of Ebuehi who committed two penalties.

Why always excuses for Ebuehi,i remember prior to WC it was injury excuses and at WC Omeruo was the issue for a player that gave two penalties away.

If we want to go by passing blames then Ekong was responsible for the two goals against Croatia.

Hope you remember that introduction of Omeruo at WC gave us better defence, check out his performance against Iceland.

Omeruo had a better WC than Ekong who was very average at WC.

My man, sentiment apart Omeruo is better this season than Ekong.

Rohr preference for Ekong is based on the fact that Balogun/Ekong still the best pairing we are having for now in eagles.

This is my assessment of both players. Ekong is a poor passer but has better strength and positioning. His positioning has clearly improved in his time at Udinese.
Omeruo is a better passer but lacks positioning sometimes.

For Nigeria, Ekong has been the better player over the past year. It is simple.

As regards the Messi goal, it was poor awareness from Omeruo. It was not as if Messi dribbled the whole defence. It was a long ball and he got caught on his blind side. With better awareness, he might have had a chance to intercept the ball or given himself space to recover. He was excellent in the Iceland game and poor in the Argentina game.

how can he win something for you? What tournaments has he gone for since he assumed office? What are you on about?

The World Cup is the first and only major tournament Rohr has gone for, and I doubt anyone expected him to win it. This AFCON will be his second, so, rest.

The man has had one of the best records in this century for a national team coach and only Keshi bests him, but don't tell us not to praise someone that rescued the team from the worst phase of mediocrity. Maybe you have forgotten that before Rohr, we had to watch Oliseh and Siasia's teams play drab, incohesive football, while destroying Keshi's legacy. Rohr has had to build this team back from nothing.

Not only did he infuse new players, he infused a new spirit in the team, he brought happiness, respect, definition. Everyone knows their place in the team, we know the leaders, we know the up and coming, everyone is playing their role brilliantly. He doesn't anatagonise his players, he doesn't badmouth them to the press, even when his staff was caught with bribe, he maintained a diplomatic stand

But, no, if Rohr does not spill blood on the cross of calvary, you people will not be satisified.

On my third line i said` WE WILL STILL RATE HIM.....` I still stand on it...my rating of a coach is based on winning not man management nor tactical ability...Keshi won AFCON and took us to second round of world cup...Rohr finished at the group stage...AFCON is coming this June..
Only those who won tournaments are mentioned...there is a reason for that FIVE STAR in Brazilian jerseys...FIVE SENIOR WORLD CUPS WON...who remembers other teams? WE MUST RAISE THE BAR....If Siasia,Keshi,Amodu were given what Rohr is being given, not just money but general good working condition, may be,they would have performed better...Though i am not against foreign coaches but I WANT PERFORMING COACHES..local or foreign...JUST BRING THE CUP HOME

Football has changed...football has evolved...the current mentality is win...win..and win...no matter the type of football you play..just win the match or the cup..we are gradually ditching the entertainment part of football...

If Rohr can take us to the final of the AFCON I will have not complaints. He doesn’t even have to match Keshi’s achievements. But I doubt he will. Make una come for my head. It happened during the WC. I no run.
I have notice your critical attitude toward the team each time we are going for a major tournament. You are fond of supporting the team when there ain't nothing at stake but the moment we are going for a tounament, you switch to negative rhetoric. You did the same thing prior to the world cup which Hella shocked the shi.t out of icon4s. You became so critical and negative to the extent some people be like.... "joebi na you be dis".
Nation cup is around the corner and you are free to switch to your default mode.

You can't satisfy everyone. Some people have poor man's mentality. They easily forget their little beginning. They criticise others vehemently why doing nothing to better their own life. Such type of peeps are destiny killers may we not encounter them in real life. Amen!

Please remove bitterness from your heart when arguing in a faceless forum...always argue with your head not heart...do not be too Nigerian and too judgmental in depositing your points....many Nigerians see things from religious angle... in a little thing.... prayer is said against attack or enemies or destiny killers ....and a big amen is added at the end...This is an intellectual forum not a prayer ground...

My contention is that Super Eagle should be winning..i am raising the bar for Rohr...he can win more than Keshi...Nigeria is the winner..simple

You also forgot that Omeruo was the one turned inside out for Percy Tau's goal against us in South Africa
