amen..... I did not buy in vain

Recall I told u u won't regret buying the coy !!
Aside the dividend declared after the long wait, this financial print from WEMA is showing an appreciable gap up accross core deriavable revenue and earnings line.
...this is KEY !!
This bank is now well placed to maintain their growth trajectory going forward.
Kudos to all those who adhered to our guide and swiftly bought this coy at btw, 51 to 53k ealier this year.

Cheers.

Sir, but playing in these small small banks is not really healthy for someone's health and well being. The allure is that they can gap up faster than the Tier 1. They have little or no share of the market and their status is not strong enough to withstand little shock in the industry. For cautious investors like mine, always looking to buy the UBA, ZENITH, GTB, ACCESS at bargain.

Truly, today I understand that this forum move NSE, we have a lot of ghost followers, for instance the moment one of the member posedt about 22 kobo fake dividend of Fidelity, their price jump from 2.20 to 2.40+, and immediately the true fact of it's dividend been 11 kobo, the price descended back to 2.06.
Immediately the result of caverton was posted, the available stock in the offer disappear.
This forum is great grin grin grin

Blood shed @ fidelity ongoing while fcmb builds up. Anyways defection from fidelity to fcmb is allowed as our politician will always do and crosscarpet from APC to PDP and vice versa.

There seem to be contrasting reports with the amount that was declared.
...initial report yesterday clearly stated a 22k payment until this morning when it was replaced with a financial print showing a 50% cut down to 11k.
Now that's not a good sign. ...given that it sends all the wrong coperate governance signals along with it, whether deliberate or not.
That said, there is NO need to panic. ...FIDELITY declared a great result over the course of 2018.
So it remains a HOLD for me irrespective of the amount declared.
Especially if ur in it for the mid to long term.

Btw, the bank will be holding a conference call on Monday.
...hopefully they'll clarify the stakeholders on what is actually the proposed amount as dividend declared.

Regards.

Let me point out this very important factor;
With finding GREAT BARGAINS in the stock market, there are 2 core areas to focus on;
1) Look out for the GROWTH BEHIND THE VALUE !!
This is where coys like WEMA, MAY&BAKER, INTERNATIONAL BREWERIES and SEPLAT currently fall in.
...and where companies like BETA GLASS, CUSTODIAN, UNILEVER and a few others had their roots. I recall that this was how I spotted the growth potential of BETA GLASS when it was still selling for FAR LOWER than its current market price.
That's GROWTH investing approach.

2) Look out for the VALUE BEHIND THE PRICE !!
This is where coys like CAVERTON, AIICO, TRANSCORP, LEANAFRICA, UBA, ZENITH, and JB currently fall in.
...and where a company like FIDSON HEALTHCARE and C&I LEASING had their roots. Folks can remember how FIDSON rose from just above N1 to more than N6, returning over an incredible 500% gain !!
This is VALUE investing approach.

Both APPROACH can make one some very good ROI.
When u can spot a 'gap' wide enough to make for a great margin on either the GROWTH or VALUE potential in a coy, RUN IN and ask questions later !!
...this is KEY, and an almost certain route to EXCELLENCE in the market !!

Regards.

With CAVERTON, I believe that the best is yet to come !!
EPS up by approx 65% from 77k in 2017 to N1.27 last year !!
With a 25k dividend declared for FY 2018. ...up by ~66% from the 15k declared in 2017.
Result shows a tremendous gap up accross all revenue and earnings line !!
This financial print is currently the best to have come out of the exchange at the moment.
Meanwhile most of the returns (with proceeds from electioneering) and what-have-u, will actually reflect in their result this year !!
Again, there were several contracts(I mentioned most of them here) which were brokered last year, and which will effectively come in with greater returns this year. Another is the recent juicy deals with the HONEYWELL GROUP and the THALES GROUP. ...and yet another is the company's maintenance, repair and overhaul(MRO) project, a world class aviation maintenance platform which would see caverton diversify its revenue base and shift focus from their sole reliance in oil & gas related deals nearing completion in a matter of months.

Lots of 'goodies' in place for this coy... so I expect that the 2019 calender yr will even fair better.
Q1 and Q2 2019 will lead the way in that regard.
CAVERTON is a must buy for any deserning investor with an eye for VALUE !!

I have since said that coys like AIICO, CAVERTON, FCMB, FIDELITY, UBA, ZENITH, TRANSCORP, MAY & BAKER and LEANAFRICA currently describes investment assets with great GROWTH behind the VALUE and great VALUES behind the PRICE !!
Those who know and understand, know what they need to continue to do.
A word they say, is enough for the ....

But then again, due diligence should still remain ur 1st priority.
We continue to observe.

RabbiDoracle:

You don't seem to get how these smaller banks are managed.

They need to shore up capitals by giving out little and holding back the rest so as to improve capital buffers. Fidelity has an over ambitious plan of becoming Tier 1 bank. Is it easy? So they need to plan and know how to go about this.

If Fidelity pays you 50kobo and comes back to raise capital at N2 from you, how will you feel?

So I believe they are holding back to improve their capital buffers.

However, if you don't like it, SELL. Depress the price below N2 so that people can load up more. grin grin
oga don't cook up excuses for all these companies it is becoming too much for them. for how long will they continue to shore up capital this way at detriment of minority shareholders? meanwhile piling up funds for self aggrandizement by management and stealing through the back door. nothing stops fidelity and fcmb from paying at least 25k
