I had a similar issue and it was sorted out in 15 days after which they sent me an email to pick up my passport. Not to worry just keep looking at the website and it would change from ADMIN PROCESS to ISSUED. just calm down

Good day house, been a silent reader for while n made sure i read through this thread frompart1to 4�..had our interview 26th and i was heartbroken! We were at the embassy before 2016, let me just explain what i can rmber about the 2016 interview ....we are a family of 3 (hubby, myself and then a 3yr old daughter. Reason for denail in 2016 was because we haven't travelled out of nigeria as a family b4.....personally i have been to dubai about 4 to 5tyms (buying n selling) and nairobi about 3tyms ( whenever i fly KQ i stopby) then ghana for a frnd party....hubby has been 2 dubai too 3tyms and also had a 2yrs contract wit a company (Residence which expired almost 2yrs now)........so last year we decided to visit jo'burg and also nairobi as a family. ............

So we decided to try US again for easter holiday here goes d transcript

I was super angry at my hubby for a minute buh then why d vo ask only asked 2question na? and our status has sha change�......so here is my worry....1. Why typing so much?...2. My hubby thinks becoz out of a family of 6 (my cousins in US) na 1 whom i am close to i always fill in our form, should that be a prob? P.s...we wont be staying with that my cousin because he is single n stays in new jersey, thats why we choose new york for our holiday, which is 53minutes drive to NJ from queens court NY.......We would try and visit Europe for easter hopefully and may revisit Us december, and thinking i should include all d member of my cousin family in the form? yea think so too.....buh i guess my husband just got carried away!! My daughter was 3 in 2016 n ll be 7 come july.....n again my husband thinks it might be because we still only have 1child since then which i dont wanna believe. My fear is the just typing too long and just 2questions though

Hi my situation is quite complex. I was in the us i’ 2016 and stayed for 2 weeks. I went to visit my sister who just had a baby then. Fast forward to October 2018, i attempted to apply for renewal through dropbox as my visa was going to expire my November 2018. I submitted my documentation for dropbox renewal at the point of submission my us passport still had about 6 months validity on it before it expired however after I sent my documents through drop box I got an email that my passport was being sent back and i need to come in for an interview instead. So i went to pick the passport up from DHL in isolo. Upon collection, i tried to go online to reschedule and interview and there was no interview dates available then. I kept on checking over the next couple of days and there were still no dates showing up.
I sent an email to the embassy telling them on the situation and the response i got back was to keep checking . Finally after some days of checking, i finally got some date show up on my ustraveldocs dashboard and the earliest of this dates was June 2019.
I went ahead and chose this dates even though this was 7 months from the attempted dropbox renewal i did in October 2018. Like i mentioned earlier my passport when i was about to renew through dropbox in October 2018 was still valid but had about 6 months left to expire- so this clearly means that the passport information i filled in my new ds 160 and while booking my interview in ustraveldocs was my passport with 6months validity- however since i wasnt granted renewal through dropbox and had to reschedule an interview to go in for an inperson interview and i didnt get an early date and the earliest date available was June and by then the same passport which would have been good for the drop box renewal would be expired in June.
My plan initially when applying for fropbox with a pasport that was almost about to expire ( which is allowed as long as it has at least 6months to expiration on it). was if i get approved with dropbox , i only have to renew my old passport and get a new passport regardless then just carry 2 passports when i travel which is the Expired passport with the visa (if the visa would have been renewed with dropbox) and then carry my old and my new passport with me together so basically I’ll be traveling with 2 passports that is the old one that has the visa in it and then my new passports and which is something thats allowed.
So in confusion , i have gone to renew my passport as it has now expired while awaiting for the interview date and i have sent multiple emails to the embassy to rectify but they are not forthcoming. They said I can't update to a new passport because of the Gtbank receipt I used in making payment which carries my old passport number.
So i guess my question is - what do i do? Do i go in for the interview like that or do i have to make another gtbank payment or what?

There is really nothing to worry about here. When you apply for a passport Renewal the old one would be cancelled without prejudice and the new one would come with a new passport number, however the old passport number wuld be somewhere on the new one. Just fill up a new DS 160, then update the DS160 on your USTRAVELDOC profile. Do not worry about the passport number cos it cant be edited on the USTRAVELDOC. Goto the embassy with both the old and new passport and your chances are high. I had a very Similar case of changing my pasport after paying for the VISA FEE and i did all ijst told you. I was given 2 papers though, one was for ADMIN PROCESS and the otheer one was to COLLECT my passport, i waited for about 16 to 18 days and got an email to pick up my passsport and yes i got the VISA. GOODLUCK

I paid for my USA Visa application March 6, 2018(Last year), but I just applied for interview this year before the receipt expired and it was accepted on the system.

My question now is, with the receipt expired now, will I still be granted interview?

Also, what is the probability of them granting one a visa with a Canadian Immigrant Visa?

Where they asked work / education, it seems I can only put either worker or student. If I select student, how do I add that I do business on the side since I am self sponsoring myself to the conference.
