darkelf: Seems like you don't want know what Mikel brings. I get it, he isn't the best midfielder in the league, not even close at all. But saying we can do without him as at now is not true. Not with what Iwobi is doing. When you are 1-0 against Senegal in the Semifinal, then you will understand how important Mikel is. Iwobi is there to create chances, if he isn't doing it then he should go to the bench for someone who can, but only Mikel can actually control a game, make it look pleasing. 2 Likes |

wayodude: Bright Dike was injured, or he would have been there. Anthony Ujah was at the Confed cup, and killed his career. The rest of the players you called are not out and out strikers so I wonder how they got into the conversation. Now let's talk about Eneramo and Ideye. Please show me their stats for that year 1 Like |

Mikel is still relevant on the short term.He does not have the intensity of a box-box midfielder hence his low statistics on assists and goals but his general football intelligence is an asset to any team. The intensity of d game in Europe and at the World Cup will always be higher dan the AFCON hence we can still get 60 to 70 quality minutes from him Bt if we ain’t looking at replacing him in the long term, dats suicidal for this super eagles....The best mikel can go is a bit-part role in the next World Cup and dats even pushing him to d limit....Our scouts and coaching crew must earn dia pay in discovering and developing a long term replacement for mikel. 3 Likes |

Earthquake2: Abeg leave Iheanacho, let him face his work. He is not even worthy of a place on our bench presently. The guy's career is down now and everyone knows that. The way some of us mock players in the name of "constructive criticism" leaves much to be desired. |

darkelf: Let me come in here, your assertion that Mikel will not make a difference at the Afcon is flawed. Mikel had a jaded performance at the world cup, same as a host of players. Mikel is the heartbeat of that midfield. This is African opposition we are talking about. Mikel will be our Pirlo at this tournament based on the little I have seen of him at Middlesborough. His presence will be the difference for us as he will dictate play from deep. Mikel is our most important player, take it or leave it. 6 Likes 1 Share |

Joebie: Just came back from the game and I must say, this was the best I ever saw Ndidi play. He was not just good in his marking but his tracking back to win balls was off-the-chain. His passing also improved and he was very balanced in his play. I think he is the most improved player. 3 Likes |

The Leicester City team as a whole showed improvement especially in their work rate. Vardy covered his earlier awful miss with a brilliant goal. He showed good work rate too. I was also very impressed with Mendy when he came on too. Gray needs to work on his decision making. His work rate was good and tracked back well. Made well timed runs but a lot of poor final balls. As a whole I see much improvement in the team and with time they will get more solid. |
