Andrew444 could be right. I do not know why Omeruo was not on the team. I only stated my suspicion.

Yellow cards suspension.

Etebo has the pace but not the intelligence of a box to box midfielder.. I guess moving to the championship ha stalled his progress..

That being said, if that is ur preferred midfield combo, then Iwobi will have to come in from the bench.. right now I think Musa,Kalu and Onyekuru offer more from the wings than Iwobi

It may be premature but l noticed that when thier was the opportunity Onyekuru did not cross the ball considering the aerial advantage we had over Egypt.

Even Moses seemed not know how to cross.

How can you be Winger and can not cross the ball. In addition l noticed the same with our wing backs Shehu and Collins.

These are the primary essential attributes of both these positions amongst other attributes.

This seems to be a problem with the SE.

I think we should play a midfield three of Etebo playing box-box, Ndidi Sitting and Mikel playing a creative role.
We tried playing Mikel in a creative role at the world cup. How'd that turn out?
Ndidi, Mikel and Iwobi IMO

Onyekuru is more of a wide forward than a winger. Just play someone like Samu on the other flank.

Onyekuru
Musa
Shehu
Moses
Simon
Iwobi
Success
All the above players have something in common. A weakness for crossing the ball from the flank. Instead they prefer to cut back.

Bryan Idowu situation update

Bryan Idowu not Smiling, but Lokomotiv Moscow keep title dreams Alive
Second placed Lokomotiv Moscow kept the chase for the Russia Premier League title and a UEFA Champions League playoff spot alive on Saturday with a narrow 1-0 win over Dynamo Moscow, and forgotten Super Eagles, Bryan Idowu checked 90 minutes in the game.
Idowu, who last played for Nigeria at the World Cup in Russia, was an unused substitute in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Libya and South Africa in 2018.
Nonetheless, the 26 year-old left-back has seen his fortunes at club level improve slightly in 2019, playing 233 minutes in all competitions.
Saturday was another good hunting for the former Amkar man, who has made just 7 league appearances this season.

I don't think we need another tall striker with Onuachu in the team

Success and Iheanacho are fighting for the last spot

As what strikers who can not score or cheerleaders.

Call up must be justified not on past glories but on the basis of club and league consistent continous top quality performances.

Can someone remind me how many goals the two forward players have scored in the past two seasons in thier clubs in the EPL.

Good players adapt and thrive.

If you are on the wing and you have aerial dominance with a 6'5" ➕ striker and you don't cross the ball, sorry that's unforgivable.

Where does Okoroji’s allegiance lie? If I were Rohr, I will be looking at our full back options. Okoroji and Iorfa will be good additions in the future.

THAT IS A VERY BIG PROBLEM you are playing wing and you can not cross in the national team.

If you are 12 years old in a EPL football academy and you play on the wing. And you can not cross the ball, sorry mate you are getting RELEASED.

Bros no be today. I even thought that the presence of a German coach would help instill these attributes into our boys but alas, the status quo continues. Even setpieces na wahala

Nwakali na youth player. I’m not sold until I see him perform at a high stage.

If there is a third #9 spot vacant in SE, it would be a tough battle for the final slot. I would rather go with Osimhen. Ighalo, Osimhen and Onuachu. All different kind of strikers. They bring something different to the table

tbaba1234:
Simy with a brace

Success with an assist

Sadiq Umar with an assist

Ekong kept a clean sheet in Udinese 2:0 win

Ndidi with a man of the match performance

Musa Yahaya came on as a 78 minute sub. Nwakali did not make the team.

This was very glaring and painful in the Egypt and Seychelles match. Imagine onuachu oooo.

I'm sure onuachu would've had a field day if we had a good crosser of the ball

Gbam. I've been telling them to give iwobi that creative role and nurture him. Let him grow on the job but NO, it must be Mikel....

I'm saying that isn't necessarily his job. You can always balance that by having a natural winger on the other side or leave the crossings to your fullbacks.
Onyekuru can drift inside and create space for our fullbacks to cross.

I think that's our 3 forwards for now. Good thing is they can play with each other depending on the formation we adopt.

Rohr didn't mention Success in his considerations though.

He has Ighalo, Osimhen, Onuachu and Iheanacho in mind. Does he need up to four strikers though?

Just came back from the game and I must say, this was the best I ever saw Ndidi play. He was not just good in his marking but his tracking back to win balls was off-the-chain.

His passing also improved and he was very balanced in his play.

I think he is the most improved player.

It's the few days of training with Rohr that made the difference grin]

He mentioned four strikers for the Afcon

So if Iheanacho is not performing Success will take his place

wait o....is Success performing?

If he needs a fourth striker, let him kuku carry Simy that scored a brace for Crotone, at least he has more goals than Success.

There is no wisdom in dropping one impotent striker for another.

Success is good at holding up the ball and defending, he can also play from the wings as well

I'm not convinced about Simy, it seems before any tournament he starts scoring goals grin
