Goztino: A big question you might need to ask yourself. I don't live in Germany but intending just as you right now. 1. How much would you want to return to them per month, due to the limited amount of funds to withdraw from Block Account. 2. How you made research on your intended area of stay & jobs in the location. I am certain that your First 2 months won't be smooth as you think, this is normal as you need to slowly adapt to the environment & know how to purchase cheaper food items, needs, transport etc so you would be spending a lot. Lastly, please always be truthful & don't try to cajole your way into collecting money. Let them know it is monthly that you intend to return it. A good name is better than Silver & gold. 6 Likes |

truthsayer009: 1. 720 Euro monthly starting from when I get a job which I will likely get within 2 months. 2. When admission rolls, you make choice base on the best area for you. @ the bolded. He who wears the shoes knows where it pinches. I understand my people better than you and there will be case of bad name when you fail to return the money not when you have explained to them the situation and brought up a better way to return the cash and adhering to your words 3 Likes |

Goztino: My point is there are Student jobs available in some areas as compared to others. The location/city/state of your chosen school will determine, not you. |
Re: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 6 by Goztino(m): 5:47pm On Mar 30, 2019 |
truthsayer009: You don't understand my point. Nobody applies to one university alone. You make choices from the universities that offered you admission based on the cities they are located. So you also have a role to play in determining where to go. You apply to multiple universities to make your probability of getting admission higher especially if you are someone like me who won't like to hear stories say na because of admission na em you no travel For example if university in any Bavaria state or any Eastern Germany state offer me admission and university in cologne or Bremen etc offer me, I will choose that of cologne based on experience of those in deutschland 1 Like |

Goztino: Oh okay, I understand you better now. But even sef, there is no guarantee that all will give you admission. Finally It's the ones that give you would eventually go for. Last Dec I applied to many schools, Only 2 schools gave me. |

Hello FAM, I got my transcript yesterday, to my surprise it had about eight errors, different course titles, they even added courses I didn't take. I'm so disappointed and frustrated. Has this happened to anyone? Secondly, my English language proficiency letter was addressed to Federal uni petroleum resource institute and not to whom it may concern. Will it be accepted that way Help a confused girl my people |

Akinson1:Bro i think you have to be specific , which course do you want to go for? With that people will know how to help Thanks |
Re: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 6 by Goztino(m): 6:22pm On Mar 30, 2019 |
sleekybabee1: 1. Complain to your school about the errors in transcript and get it corrected before you apply to German universities 2. The English language proficiency letter should have letterhead bearing the name of your school and be addressed to whom it may concern if you intend to use it to apply to many universities |

sleekybabee1:I equally got same issue yesterday when I saw my transcript. But I was able to effect the changes thanks to our corrupt system(money went down). To settle the issue you have to head to your dept. Locate your file, there you will see your course form from 100 till final year, take it to exams and records. If you can then rub or grease their palms for the service to be swift. About the proficiency? My school refused to address it to whom it may concern. And went ahead to address it to University of Bayreuth. I will use it to apply to. Other schools, it doesn't matter. Take the transcript for instance, some are addressed to companies/institutions in Nigeria and we still make use of it in DE......... Cheers 1 Like |

They don't decriminate schools in Germany.. Which ever one u go to would get you a job if you have the right skills, language and other factor..the only major difference is fachhochschule do not offer PhD programs...they both are practical and research oriented You already differentiated it..you know from the name of the school Goztino: 4 Likes |

Akinson1: which section of the school gives the English Proficiency Letter, Registrar or Exam and Record?? |
Re: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 6 by Deustchemann(m): 10:21pm On Mar 30, 2019 |
Ndaife:Exam and records unit is usually under the Registrar's office so that's where you'll get it from. |

Re: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 6 by Deustchemann(m): 10:33pm On Mar 30, 2019 |
Goztino: The first thing is to understand the nature of your course. Is your course research oriented or industry oriented? If your course is research oriented, then you know you'll have to head for a PhD after MSc. If it's industry oriented, then you can choose to find a job after MSc. I'll share some screenshots of my mails with one of the ogas in Part 2 of the thread. Don't mind the blurring, it's for security purposes. About the naming, you'll see it on the name of the school. Hoschule Bonn-Rein-Sieg is University of Applied Sciences, Bonn-Rein-Sieg while Georg August Universitat is University of Göttingen. Then, as Fabcol as said, all the schools run on the same standard, except that you can't do a PhD at Hoschules 2 Likes

Deustchemann: Waooo, this is explicit. My course is practical oriented. MSc in Geoscience, also applied for Msc in Geomatics and Geophysics. I no dey like too much research and too much theory wey person go get too many handouts to read or rather cram. I am very poor in cramming, somehow lazy in reading and always very good and vigorous in practical things. I prefer it raw and practical with more materials to practice on and less materials to read. I love action. From the information I gathered, I will be more fitted in practical oriented universities but my major aim is doing a course that can give me jobs in Germany and graduating with very good grades in such course. |
Re: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 6 by Deustchemann(m): 12:01am On Mar 31, 2019 |
Goztino: Geo courses have lots of practicals as they are field stuffs. But then, you can be assured of a good standard of education in Germany. |
