GENRE: Martial arts.

Wow!!. Is it just me or does the fight scenes of this movie induce sleep?? M.J.White beating the living day light out of Iko Uwais, the same Iko Uwais of the Raid 1&2, no wonder I slept off, my brain couldn't take it any more, it had to shut my eyes to that abomination of a fight. Scott Adkins performance really improved acting & martial art wise, but telling me he was able to take on Tony Jaa & Iko Uwais was another big sleep inducer for me.
The plot was basically cut & join, the acting was just there, & the martial art scenes were just manageable, All in, the movie was a great sleep inducer & for that, I'll give it a solid 4.5.

One is not like the other. Donnie Darko is a straight up intelligently written mind f**k if ever there was one. I had to watch the movie a second time to finally get a firm grasp on all the variables and themes.

Meanwhile, I couldn't get into the Butterfly Effect the 2-3 times I've had to watch it in the past. My opinion may have been partly skewered and influenced by my intense dislike for Aston Kushner, but the film's juvenile approach to time travel certainly played a huge part. I've seen more interesting and well thought out approaches to dealing with time travel, which are often marked by intelligent writing and adult-esque themes. The Butterfly effect's plot at a glance seems like something a little kid can come up with. It is that absurd.

The guy has always been incredibly meta in regards to martial arts. He's got some sick martial arts skills. That signature spinning kick of his is very Batman-esque. What have always held him down are his acting range and bland personality.

In regards to the fight, I don't have a problem with it. Adkins was more fluid, had better arms to leg coordination, better martial arts skills. Him kicking their asses was very convincing.

Like I said earlier, Scott Adkins really impresseed me, but that fight scene didn't go down well with me, it was kinda unbelievable to me, that the same Tony jaa, with his somewhat crude, but yet effective agressive fighting skill, together with that of iko uwaisis will be beaten in that manner. Its just like a domesticated German Shepherd or any of the cops trained K9s confidently taking on 2 wild coyotes.

I really enjoyed the 3 secs fight scene between Iko & Tony at the beginning, how I wish they had more run time, would have loved to know who is better between the two lads.
