Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested one Wasiu Oyewole for conniving with two others to scoop fuel after allegedly vandalising a Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation’s NNPC pipeline in the Owutu area of Agric, Ikorodu.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Bala Elkana, said in a statement on Sunday that Oyewole and his accomplices, who are still at large, were intercepted by the anti-crime operatives of the command at the Canoe area of Ejigbo, on Thursday, March 28, 2019.

Elkana stated that the suspects took to their heels when they spotted the policemen on patrol, adding that Oyewole was arrested after the cops gave them a hot chase.

He said, “On Thursday, March 28, 2019, around 12.30pm, while on anti-crime monitoring of the Canoe area of Ejigbo, the police operatives, led by Sergeant Sunday Joseph, suspected a Fiat bus with two contrasting colours, the Lagos commercial colour at the front, while the rest is painted in blue. On sighting the policemen, the three occupants of the bus jumped down and fled in different directions.

“The policemen pursued them and caught up with one of them, Wasiu Oyewole, of No 3 Oluseyi Street, Agodo Egbe, Lagos, while the remaining two jumped into the canal and escaped. The suspect confessed that he and his cohorts loaded the bus, with number plate LND 825 BC, with multiple sacks laden with PMS or petrol.

“He claimed further that the NNPC pipeline was vandalised in the Owutu area of Agric in Ikorodu, where the product was loaded, while their intended sales point was Ijegun. Efforts are being made to track down the other accomplices, who jumped off the vehicle on sighting the police. Meanwhile, the NNPC officials have been contacted to decant the product.”

He's innocent, some NASS officials are earning over 25 mil monthly for no just course. While this man has risked his life to get this fuel please leave him alone. He didn't harm anyone.

The police just took stolen goods from a lower thief and handed it over to a higher thief.

I can bet that those NNPC officials contacted would siphon that product to their personal pocket.

Should his bus get into accident and explode roasting several innocent people.... I can bet my life you would be the first to blame NASS for not arresting them. Enemy of law and order and progress.

@ topic.... sacks of petrol.... I learned something new today.

Government legit Tankers cause more Accident, any solution Yet? If you're not killing anyone to make money in this country you deserve some accolade. The county is really messed up. The hardship is too much.

So you're ok with me being a burglar... you at work... I'm in your home cleaning house.... but as long as I don't kill or injure anyone.... it's ok...after all... the country is messed up. Is that the message?

No wahala bro, you can drill oil if you've the courage to... How can someone be receiving 25mil while some are receiving 30k. And both of them are serving the same nation and going to the same market.
