rebekah2011: Have gone through their result yourself, please do, check their other comprehensive earning, and total comprehensive earning. http://www.nse.com.ng/Financial_NewsDocs/25430_CHAMS_PLC_FINANCIAL_STATEMENTS_MARCH_2019.pdf Check the originality of your claimed, and tell me whether they would have not make or making gained, also where will they get money to pay their dividend, if no gain is recorded. Remembered we argued to learn. Not an attack, but knowledge sharing. |

The other comprehensive income figure of over 500m relates to revaluation surplus recorded on intangible assets. If you look closely under other comprehensive income, you will notice that the figure came under item that will not be reclassified to profit or loss. The meaning is that this cannot be taken to be under consideration when you are computing your EPS. Hence, it cannot be paid out as a dividend. This year is my 11th year in practice as a qualified accountant and tax practitioner. So I know a bit about audited accounts when I see them. But Investing in stocks is a different ball game. One Oga said here too, that you can make money in any stock. You only have to be smart to know the type of game you are playing. But the advice that I will always give to the newbies is for them to flow with tested and durable stocks like Zenith, Gtbank, UBA, Total etc. Chams, Union Diagnostic, and their likes are just there waiting for guys to swallow. I remember way back when Union Diagnostic did their private placement, I travelled all the way from Ijebu-Ode to Lagos to try and buy. Unfortunately, I could not locate where to buy their shares then. Look at Medview Airline, when did the company list? How come they declared billions in losses in their 2018 full year? Let me just go and earn my little minimum wage so that I can find money to buy my future stocks. Good morning Sir. Chibuking81: 3 Likes |

DOLLARTEX: Dollar man, I hope you're following that convo from Oga Rebekah and Chibuking? If Chams profit is a one-off gain brought about by VAT writeback and provision for something again, I think one needs to tread with caution around them until the coast is clear. 1 Like |

Chibuking81:While no one knows it all in this market, I think warning people about what they want to put their money into is not bad at all. He's been putting forward healthy debates based on figures and classified info which may be hidden somewhere in the reports but not known or seen by many. Speaking on behalf of myself, I dont see him as discouraging anyone at all. Let's not discourage him as well....... afterall individuals are manager of their portfolios and have 100% right to click buy/sell button. 1 Like |

rebekah2011:Ceteris paribus, I still believed that they make gain, to pay 3 kobo even if its not 7/8 kobo as presented. Anyway their 2019 q1 result will tell the truth, whether they are moving forward or still backward. I still appreciate your effort. |

currentprice: If it rises to 25kobo,chibuking will be sitting at a comfortable gain if he sells. If it rises to 25kobo and chibuking fails to sell because of dividend,he will gain the 3kobo and may not be able to bail out again until the Q1 result appear. Who know if this company will be caverton, Transcorp of 2019.......... For me I stick to strong fundamentals |

locodemy:Qualification date not yet disclosed, the date might be after q1 result, which will likely clear the doubt of those believing that the company has not bounced back to profit making. |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Nobody: 9:59am On Apr 02, 2019 |
Chibuking81: Make sure you use wisdom to trade this stock. Some companies will declare dividend, the qualification and payment date becomes infinity or later cancel. It happens here at Nse. Do you think this is good? Rebekah is making sense in this case...... |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Mcy56(f): 9:59am On Apr 02, 2019 |
Chibuking81:Lol. Na proverb CP dey talk here o. If I understand him well, he said they must push the price to 23k or more "by fire by force" so as to be able to adjust the price for markdown. That anyone wey no bail out before markdown might be in for a longggggggg ride with Chams......just like those wey don siddon inside the bus sinnccceeee. |

Mcy56: honestly all my oga have said it all negative retain earnings, VAT write back etc need to be considered before taken decision. 5b from share premium was trf to retain earnings thereby reduced from negative 7.6b to 1.9 fairprice look attractive sha based on abracadabra result. my opinion, chams will likely rise first like union diag toward their Q1 result before greedy pple get stuck back to the park 3 Likes |

Mcy56: when someone here was projecting N5 caverton yesterday i just dey laugh when i saw the projection! Investors sentiment over a stock must also be considered not just goodness of a stock and that is what is happening currently in caverton. Zenith is a perfect example at least the stock should be selling at 29-30 naira but investors sentiments is making the stock to be staggering all the time. |
