Practice! Practice!! Practice!!! Thats what it takes. Utilize every speech opportunity. Know what to say beforehand and be good at the using the language.

Well if you see shyness as an enemy of progress, you will definitely get rid of it. Learn to read more motivational and inspirational books. Attend functions and seminars often, and also contribute to topics discuss in a group. Always ask reasonable questions in public lectures if you have the opportunity. In your closet, practice it

For starters, I would suggest you get comfortable addressing family members or friends first, then try speaking in front of a small group of strangers. When you feel you've mustered enough courage, you can then move onto larger audiences. Also try to be very prepared. Preparation is key to controlling your fear. If you know your material inside and out, and you're ready to answer audience questions, you’re well on your way to giving a good speech absence fear and shyness.

Join Toastmaster International. Its a NGO that builds individual's communication and leadership skills with locations in several countries and thousands of members.

We have club in Ikeja,VI,PH,Abuja,Ibadan etc......just locate the nearest club. www.toastmasters.org/

Believe me,with presentations and impromptu speeches at the meetings you're sure to improve in no distant time. Goodluck!

In one newspaper interview, He said he would face a standing mirror to address himself as if he was addressing someone else. That's how to start when your shyness is going to affect your profession.

Another point, if you're a Christian attend Sunday school class ,try to either make useful contribution, or ask thought provoking questions at the end of every class.

It's a gradual process. The start may be challenging and tasking, don't be discouraged even if people noticed you're shy or nervous.

Boldness is seriously needed in your profession.
