You're right. Amaechi relied on Federal might while Wike started early to mobilize INEC. Imagine having your party men as INEC returning officers.

Even Buhari should should start warming up to Wike to protect his second term from untimely death

Local politics is different from national politics.
Moreover besides the militarisation of the election, including the violence stemming from the various party touts, there was serious voters apathy in Rivers State.
