I'm currently using redmi 5 plus, bro the phone is solid it handles my games without blinking, and it's the base variant, camera is great (I don't know why others complain), no issue about screen(might be the unit others get)
Overall bro na iPhone xs max I dey use �

Good day house I really will appreciate your candid advice and opinions on this phone issue.

Will be relocating soon outta Naija and I need to buy a phone that has a global reception both in Nigeria and Canada and I don't want a Samsung phone cos of its fragile nature. I have searched all over and the best I came up with is iPhone and I don't like iPhone too.

Pls can Xiaomi phone be good for that, does it have a global baseband and what type of it's high-end phone can I buy that will meet my desire goal. Kindly help make this decision pls. Thanks

Sorry, if i may ask, why do u want to buy Redmi 5 plus? There are other devices like Note 5, Redmi 7and Note 7 u can choose from.

I use Redmi 5 plus (4gb ram 64gb rom), but will be upgrading to Note 7 soon. wink

Na my luck as gptech has rightly said. I love the phone too, e just fall my hand, every other thing is perfect, except for the screen that's flickering once in a while
Have you tried changing the kernel to custom based one?
I came across some kernel changelog claiming they could fix some screen issues.
Check the dedicated page of your model on Xda for possible fixes.

PS: The kernels won't exactly fix the screen issues, but the phone should work as expected when they are installed.

I want to believe you are boxed, so check out the latest flagship Xiaomi Mi9.

And it will do you a lot of good if you do proper research of the network bands utilised in the city you're moving to.

Please do your research very well before buying. Also watch YouTube videos. For example, thepocophone doesn't have 4g capabilities for some networks in the US and Canada.

You should be fine. Sha check compatability on willmyphonework before you decide. Besides you'd have free WiFi 95% of the time
