The Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC) has said that the construction of an Inland Dry Port (IDP) at the terminal end of the ongoing Lagos-Ibadan Standard gauge railway line would end the perennial traffic gridlock on the nation’s seaports, especially Tin Can Island and Apapa ports. If NRC is actually ready ro move cargo the dry port will operate cheaply and efficiently. The failed to move cargo to Kaduna dry port for more than a year. Hopefully they wont have excuses this time around. It will be an 18 months construction time and the bid will be opened by 16 April so we have qualification by May, 2019. He said, “By the arrangement it’s 55 per cent shareholding by the Chinese consortium, 20 per cennt shareholding by the Oyo state government and 25 percent to other stakeholders. It seems like you guys have your preferred bidder. 8 Likes |

This is nice, so far it will ease traffic and also provide jobs for the people of the SW. We need more of this in the SW. Others can keep hating Buhari, we will keep taking the project, one of the reasons Fasola needs to be retained. God bless PMB, PYO, Tinubu, OShiomole and the APC. 78 Likes 4 Shares |

Why cant all these Igbo Business men build a private sea port in Onishta, Asaba or PH or somewhere in the East since federal govt is not thinking along that line. Do it as a business and stop complaining about what ndi Yoruba is doing over here 54 Likes 4 Shares |

keee: It need a willing government that will like to develop the entire Nigeria like South Africa is doing in their country. They may like to do it but FG will block it through greedy west. South Africa have six standard ports, if you live in Capetown you don't need to go all the way to Durban to clear your goods. If Nigeria is serious country that want to provide job to the youth, somebody that live in Aba dont need to go to lagos to clear his goods where there is Calabar, PH or Onitsha that is nearby. The same with someone in Kano and other part of the north, you clear your goods in Kaduna port. 31 Likes 1 Share |

Wiseandtrue: Ibadan has been developed right from when your fathers were still living in trees and learning how to make human sounds. When did you have a University in your region? When did Ibadan have a University? Hawking gala in traffic is not development, it won't be allowed in Ibadan. 52 Likes 3 Shares |

Bodingo: What is greedy West? When they wanted to build the rail line to reach Calabar passing through the SE, didn't Igbo Senators shoot it down so that they can fight Amaechi and Buhari? The SE has been supporting Saraki. Tell me a single thing the SE got from Saraki's Senate. The consequences of the politics played by the SE isn't yet clear now. 20 years from now, your children would curse you for mortgaging their futures just to fight, insult, abuse and oppose those indifferent about you. 60 Likes 3 Shares |

Nigeria will keep making rubbish plans just because they are scared of the south east. No port in Calabar, Onne is small and pricey while Asaba is a no no We will remain underdeveloped if we remain scared of the Igbos 8 Likes 1 Share |

“Cargoes from here to Ibadan will be sorted out and sent as fast as possible to respective destination. The employment content is 3000 direct employment and 2million indirect job. “It is 18 months construction time and before that we negotiate the terms of the lease. I need to learn how these indirect job figures are derived. If the industrial park is ready at the same time as the dry port I see it being export hub. Im assuming they'll do agro processing or something. Does the 18 months include just dry port and industrial park? Wiseandtrue: Lol you guys are a funny bunch. Why hasnt Abia finished its dry port after all these years? 24 Likes 1 Share

kaen1317: Nobody is supressing anybody. Maybe security is the problem with those areas. No large scale importer/company/investor would want his cargo moved to an area dominated and controlled by powerful militants that can decide to hold the port under attack if their demands are not met, their never-ending demands. Same way people would prefer to invest in America than to invest in North Korea. Nobody wants to do business in a hostile environment that is plagued with numerous uncertainty. 44 Likes 1 Share |

NaijaFutbol: Which Igbos? Mention a single Igbo state with IGR up to one-fifth of Ogun state. Or Igbos are the ones contributing taxes in Ogun state too? See, Igbos are always bitter when good things come to other people. Bring a project to the SW, they cry. Take it to the North, na cry. Take it to the SS, they insult SS that they are foolish for allowing the APC deceive them. Look at how Igbos insult SE leaders that try to reach out. Umahi, Rochas, Kalu, Obiano, etc are routinely insulted. It is blockheaded leaders like Ikpeazu that they like. That is why the SE has become what it is today. 52 Likes 2 Shares |
